Why don't you want the thinnest laptop ever?

10.4mm
Core i5 and i7
Up to 8gb of RAM, 512gb ssd, 3 USB ports
$1170
>>
screen doesn't detach

>worthless in 2016
>>
"up to 8gb"
that $1170 is the starting price and probably for some 4gb scrub shit
>>
>>53892628
Because If I had to spend $1170 on computer gear, I would rather spend it on upgrading my PC even further.
>>
>>53892628
I want it, give it to me
>>
>>53892628
Does it come with batteries?

Because the only acceptable laptop purchase to make is a rMBP.

5 second inhale into his crotch and you get $1000.

would you do it?

It doesn't matter who you are, that is not a good laptop.

i'd probably do it for 100k. just thinking about that smell makes me upchuck.

You guys are pussies. I'd suck his cock for $750.
>>

is it actually portable? thickness barely matters for shit anymore when the retarded widescreen display makes it take up as much space as a real laptop in places where I would want to bring an ultraportable

That hinge is gaudy AF.

Please, what are you? Communist?
I'd let him jizz in my coffee for a high-five.

Go take a coffee break, you have earned it.

This thing would be worth buying if the bezels weren't so thick.

No.
>>
>>53893447
The entire thing is super fucking gaudy and ugly. It looks like some shit that Arab dudes would love.

At least the macbooks have subtle colors and consistent lines, and a nice, singular defined shape

This is all over the place, and looks way too gaudy and ugly.
>>
I like my laptops like my girls.

>>
>>53892628
Why the fuck would I want THINNEST laptop? Not the lightest, not the smallest, not the most powerful, not the longest running, but the thinnest? Do you hate efficient cooling? Do you hate battery life? Do you hate sturdiness? Then thin laptops are for you. And you still need a fuckhuge bag.

the whole laptop is 10.4mm thick. Let say 1.4 mm is screen. 9mm is body. Not let say the batteries are 7mm thick.
Now imagine if they made it 1.5mm thicker they would gain around 20% more battery capacity. It would still be slim enough with thickens of 12mm, But with 2 more hours of battery life and better heat management probably.

Also do the type C ports support external GPU since they support thunderbolt?
>>
>>53892628
The hinge is the only part that's impressive to me. It's nice that HP made a good looking PC though.

I wish Dell would redo the Adamo from a few years ago, and no not the XPS version which was ridiculous but the original model pictured.

Damned thing was simply gorgeous and could stand a reboot. Outfit it with a lot of RAM, a lot of storage space (a few of those Samsung 256GB Flash chips would kick ass), make it flat black with a matte display, holy crap that would be absolutely awesome.

Cannot disagree more. You can't bring your PC to a coffee shop, a beach, or a park to do some work on it. You're still stuck in the same room. Nah.
>>
>>53893923
Any work you would be doing on this laptop, you could do on a laptop half or even 1/3rd the price.
>>
>>53893923
you could bring your phone and a bluetooth keyboard, then ssh in just as well

you beta laptop cuckhold
>>
>>53892708
Gainfully employed people have both a multi-monitor desktop and decent laptop.

I've actually written code in a gay bar in Madrid. I think it was D'Mystic. Pretty comfy place. Git is one of the best things ever.

This isnt a gaymen laptop, 4 threads is enough.
>>
>>53894109
Then why not go with a cheaper laptop? :^)
>>
>>53894146
I did go with a cheaper laptop, and i regretted it. Cheap builtquality and fucked up cheap screen. :^( I'll spend €500 more next time and get something with a nice build quality.
>>
>>53893975
Agreed. Why make things easy or comfortable for yourself at all? Just be fucking miserable all the time by using inferior solutions.

>>

>than taking a fucking bag for a fucking laptop with me

This is what using non Apple laptops distills in people.

Maybe if you didn't buy bulky ass ugly laptops you would realise that you shouldn't even be noticing you're carrying a laptop.
>>
>>53892628
Does it take Linux well? I'm thinking of a new laptop but can't decide which one. It should have no problem with Linux as its only OS, should have more than 1366x768 screen, should have a decent battery life (not the old 2 hours, more like 8 hours) and should not be too plastic, better if the body is fully metal. Also I don't want anything with a numpad, which makes the spacebar not centered. These things are surprisingly hard to combine into one laptop.
>>
>>53894557
My 1080p chromebook got a streak on the screen from external pressure because the build quality is so poor D:

None of my ThinkPads have had problems. And twinks with daddy issues like the look of a ThinkPad.
>>
>>53894557
I would immediately notice something being in my hand, unless Apple laptops magically hover beside me. If doesn't fit in my pocket it's too big. And I have fucking slim pockets.
>>
>>53893923

If I need a laptop for work on the go, an au$350 notebook would suit my needs just fine
>>
> Soldered RAM

>>

I've already drunk the mechanical keyboard kool aid, typing on a laptop keyboard for serious would would destroy my soul.
>>
>>53892628
It looks genuinely ugly
>>
>>53893733
you're making it sound like none of those things you mentioned apply because it's "muh thin".

>Do you hate efficient cooling?
yes, i do in fact hate fans in laptops. and i'd rather have an efficient cpu that doesn't heat up in the first place. also, fuck HDDs.
>>
>thin as fuck laptop
>raspberry pi tier cpu
>hardly any battery
>stupidly weak frame

>you're making it sound
Not me, laws of physics do.
>>
>>53894903

This. Although I'd probably want something smaller than a think pad. A 10-11" screen is perfect for what I'd want it for.

I can carry an external mass storage device if I need it which I never will since I mostly use my laptop for editing text files.
>>
>>53894945
Or, you know, a bigger laptop with two drive slots, since you're carrying a bag anyway.
>>
I think it looks nice, and if I weren't a poor student I'd buy it.
>>
The average laptop these days is thin enough. I do not require a laptop to be extremely super thin.
