>HP
you cant.

Repaste is all you can do, also replacing the HSF fan.
>>
Currently doing 1440p @ 144hz, Freesync. Running a 4690k with r9 Fury. It's dank as fuck m80 and the freesync monitors can be bought without selling a kidney, unlike the gsync monitors.
>>
>>53890844
it actually works for a half hour

>>53890851
it is a pavillion g6

really why?
>>
>>53890884
What i mean is that all HP laptops are well known for overheating because they have really bad cooling and cheap paste.

>>53890939
Speccy has problems on 1151 socket.
>>
>>53890957
so im fucked and i need a new machine
>>
>>53891013
Well its not like high temperatures are a problem unless your CPU throttles.

>>
>>53891216
Well performance wont be affected by better cooling unless you are using your CPU@100%.

But it will affect how much your laptop will last, a laptop a 80°c its not good, and not good for your legs too if you like to rest it in your lap.
>>
>>53891216
>>53891231
My laptop with a 4720HQ runs at 85-90 and idles at 65-70, so tbqh I wouldn't worry
>>
being replaced soon™
>>
>>53891384
Well, QH or QM CPUs are supposed to be hot.
>>
Grab you're self a X99 motherboard and a 5820K, or even a 5960X if you can afford it. Don't fall for skymeme. Fury also a shit, get a 980Ti.

I really want a X99 motherboard but is there one with 32Gb/s M2 slot?
All the ones i can find are 10Gb/s.
>>
>>53891551
I (>>53891389) ordered the X99A Mpower MSI board which has 32Gb/s M.2 slot. Getting a Samsung 950Pro drive for it.

>>
>>53891886
Well not really that better, somewhat the same performance.
Z97 motherboard instead Z87.
Slightly better CPU.

But cheaper, and new.
>>
>>53891886
Only reason why I got the stupid thing is because my Dad kept nagging me to get a new computer for his business and couldnt be bothered to just build one himself.
>>
>>53891927
should have gotten thinkpads
>>
>>53891927
Well the computer is good, somewhat oudated but good.
>>
>>53891969
Yeah my only problem with it is that for some reason it no longer reads my g600. Just out of the blue it stop recognizing it. i can plug it into another computer and It will light up and work fine its really bugging me.

>>
>>53892463
16 isn't enough, I thought that was the meme. Like you bought more than the average guy but not enough to do any real work so you're stuck in memeland.
>>
>>53892488
yup, 8 or 32GB, if you're a gaymer, 8GB is gonna be fine, if you're doing any sort of real work, you'll generally be going over 16GB fairly easily so 32GB should be the standard.
