So my Nexus 7 is running really slow. I'm going to uninstall all the apps (is the best way to do it through the uninstaller) but are there other software I can use to make it run well?

Would I just use the Nexus Root Toolkit?

Wipe it and install ubuntu

If you're rooted get fstrim and run it twice a day. It kills bloat and lag switches. Also do a wipe.
