This notation for man page sections is the worst and most confusing syntax/documentation design choice ever.

U usually search for the option you're looking for, not read the whole thing top down.
Since the Internet boom manpages become more of a quick, on-hand cheatsheets rather than actual manuals.
It's better than googling every time you forgot a proper flag.
But some software written in "the old aeons" still come with very elaborate and detailed manpages.

I'm still noob, but even when I was a lot noober I tought man pages were ok.
What I don't like is when the there aren't enough examples, but that's not man fault.
