Should I use bitbucket or github?
Depends if you're want private or public. Bitbucket has more tools but GitHub feels more accessible for open source projects.

its private for now, and will never be open sourced.

I'd take Bitbucket any day since their private repositories come free and you'll get cool overviews and shit
>Not using based BitBucket
Use bitbucket if you want free private repos.
or you can always roll your own using gitbucket

My suggestion apart from Github and bitbucket is gitlab, self hosted server.
I prefer BitBucket. To me the last straw was not being able to delete issues. Other than that more people use GitHub to be social, with the pros and cons that it brings.

Use gitlab like a true /g/ent. Everything else is censorship.
