i remember you though. I can't really help you that much, since it's mostly self explanatory. You need to put the files/folders inside the awesome folder from github in ~/.config/awesome
make sure the dependencies are installed, awful, lain, naughty, archlinux-xdg-menu and LUA has IO compiled into it.

Personally, with my aliases, shell and emulator setup to fit me perfectly, almost every basic operation is faster and easier. Backup with rsync, copying/moving files, unzipping archives, compiling/installing and updating programs, reading outputs or killing tasks, the list goes on.
I use my file manager for photos and very lengthy moving processes when it helps to have a constant visual confirmation of transfer progress and verification without typing ls.
I forgot all my c so i have to relearn it. ;;_;;

Well, it changes your window management. Allows layouts, dynamics, tiling, borders/titlebars, bar, notifications etc all handled by awesome while gnome handles anything else it does, that I don't know. It would likely be GTK related since I think gnome has a bunch of software tied into allowing system wide customization, but the GTK handled windows would be gone.

There's nothing wrong with Mac OS. It can be riced to look literally identical to most of the desktops here. Windows probably shouldn't be posted here, though, and more importantly, stock or near-stock desktops shouldn't be posted unless someone has absolutely no idea where to start and wants tips.
Most Windows desktop posters are just here to shitpost. "Haha, look at my Windows desktop. I bet you're mad, but I'm gonna keep posting it anyway".
Don't get me wrong, there are some GNU/Linux desktops posted here that probably shouldn't be, like the ones that just make the same mistakes as a lot of the Windows and some Mac OS users where they have 0 or close to 0 things open and are essentially showing us stock OS + wallpaper.
