>downloading Windows updates on Windows 7
>10 minutes later
>download is 0% complete
>do the same thing on Windows 10
>everything is downloaded and installed in a few minutes
Why is this? Are the Windows 7 update servers located in North Korea?
>>53851105
Because Windows 7 is such shit, even after SP1, you need to apply updates to Windows update to make it work correctly.
>>
no, does the 10 install have as much updates installed as the 7 one? it does not does it? do you know how much time it takes the update & shadow-copy service to gather all the information about them to rollback if needed? either get a better machine or get your shit together man...

Found the cuck.

If you're not using Enterprise LTSB, you're using the wrong one m8.
I get daily updates for Windows Defender, and a cumulative update every couple months, and that's it.
>>53852868
>>53851230
I don't get it guys. You are trying to compare windows 7 and 10 and see which one is the best one. but that's retarded. Both are shit. Windows is shit. Why don't you use a good operating system ?
>>53851230
Windows 7 forced you to auto-update after a warning, too.

Are there any sites that keep you up to date on which W7 updates have hidden W10 shit in them?
>>53851105
Windows 7 doesn't do things smart.
Say you have three updates.
>1 - 500MB
>2 - 12MB
>3 - 256KB
Windows will only print out five % amounts. 0, 33, 66, 99, and 100
The 0% will appear as the BITS pulls down the first 500MB update. That's why it takes fucking forever.
33% will appear when update 1 is done downloading and will stay while update 2 downloads
66% will appear once update 2 downloads. Much quicker than update 1
99% is the same, once after update 3 is downloaded
100% while it checks hashes. Then quickly goes away
Preparing to install...
installing 1/3
installing 2/3
installing 3/3
restart now?

Do you watch Windows Updater for entertainment or something?
>>53853815
I've been a windows tech for almost 5 years through high school and uni. During that time you have to know how things work to get things done as fast as possible.
Literally being on the autism spectrum helps, too.
>>53851105sudo pacman -Syusuper+2 super+d chromium 4chan.o <return>
literal situation
>>53851105
I haven't updated or booted into my win7 partition for this exact reason.
sudo pacman -Syu
Done 1 minute and actually shows you what the fuck it's doing. I don't care that people use Windows, but do the board a favor and quit whining - everyone knows Windows is a pile of garbage.
>>53851105
see? win10 is much faster, just upgrade! please?
>>53851105
Takes time as ms fucks with the update servers. You can try this though:
> How to update the Windows Update Agent to the latest version
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949104
>>53853591
I do have defer upgrades enabled. If you miss the prompt it does it anyway.
>>53852868
>>53853021
You can turn updates off in windows 7/10(pro). I'm referring to upgrades. They're different and they're automatic, even if you set them to deferred. They will also popover whatever game you're playing in fullscreen until you dismiss them.
