Netflix has rolled out proxy blocking, which prevents people from viewing versions of Netflix that are outside of their country.

How long do you think It will be before most, if not all websites start blocking VPNs/Proxies?

You can thank the MPAA for that

Just use Popcorn Time. Set up a VPN if your ISP doesn't like that.

Boom - the more movies, for less the price.

Also you don't have to feel like shit - Stallman says that "They pay zero cents of your CD purchase price to musicians". There's no way that this doesn't also apply to movies.

Er, sorry m8, but wat

A large group, or a company makes a film.

Usually only a person makes a song.

The person gets paid shit.

The company licences its films to netflix for n years, in exchange for lots of cash.

>The Cost of Doing Business
Securing licensing agreements with TV networks, filmmakers and other content owners is arguably the greatest expense for Netflix. For example, the company spent nearly $200 million in 2011 for access to Disney films and TV programming for a one-year period.

So, several thousands of /g/ users won't affect that even by a bit, because Netflix pays a fixed sum to the creators, not by a view.

How does proxy blocking even work?

You can get a lot of info from just an IP adress.
This may include the fact it's a proxy.

You have any idea how dangerous is to use a proxy to access a site that requires JavaScript? You can be owned easily. Just don't.
>>
Surprised that this is only happening now, even 4chan has been doing this for quite a while now.
