This is my old ass PC, I want to change the GPU but the motherboard is outdated, not to mention it's only a dual core CPU. What do you guys think I can get that is substantially better then my current GPU but is still worth getting with that CPU?

That's an AM2+ board and supports Phenom II chips. An X4 945/955/960T/965 shouldn't cost much at all on eBay. Get one of those and you could upgrade to a 960 without any trouble. It's not worth buying anything at all with your current CPU. It's literal garbage at this point.

Just upgrade the GPU and you're fine for another four years. Don't do it right now though. New cards from both Nvidia and AMD are due within the next couple of months.
