WTF are you doing?

OP here. Is there actually any article/thread anywhere describing a case where Ubuntu was proved to be a botnet?

Otherwise it is all a big talk and I have to suspect M$ shilling.

pic was from google. I'm not doing much aside from fucking your mum as usual. When you take off your gayming earphones, it's that pounding and muffled moans you hear coming from upstairs all the way down to the basement wherein you dwell.

Scheduled to be gone in xenial (16.04 LTS).

So no (not unless you're installing a C&C yourself). It's just a Debian derivative with newer upstreams, cherrypicked from testing and sid, with a few saner defaults, a curiously nuts legal department who think they have exclusive copyright to their binaries yet distributing CDDL ZFS linked with GPLv2 Linux is fine, and a case of NIH syndrome when it comes to their DM/WM (although I think Unity is actually not too bad, but they should've gone Wayland - Mir is stupid and will wither and they only wanted it because they had designs on doing an Ubuntu Phone nobody actually wants).
>>
>>53841166
double checked.

also

>Whenever you search for an application or file on your computer in the dash, your search is sent to Ubuntu’s servers. They forward your request to Amazon and show you Amazon search results. If you click an Amazon link and buy anything, Canonical gets a commission.

from there to forking info to the NSA is but one step.

There's nothing elitist about Ubuntu.
>>
Botnet in the sense that it used to have Amazon's stuff built into it. Whenever you'd search for something, the information and data would be sent to Amazon. That got removed though and if you're using an older distro that still has it, you can just turn it off.

The only other "botnet" thing in Ubuntu is SystemD which is debatable and that's in the majority of popular distros at the moment.

But it's NOT a botnet in comparison to Windows 10 at all. Not even remotely. If you think you're more secure on Windows 10 and less spied on, go for it. It's not my fault if you think Windows 10 is more private. :^)

Spied as in advertising data collected from if you don't disable privacy settings... wow... so much panic now...

Ubuntu as in having wine installed to just whine for it not being able to run anything.

lol You can't disable those features on Windows 10. Look up Telemetry.

Personally I don't care about Ubuntu's privacy issues because they're easily disabled. Good luck doing that on Windows 10.

I don't follow? Is this supposed to make me mad? I don't use Wine. I have Steam if I want to game and Linux's alternatives have never failed me. :)

Being retarded and not knowing you only need as much swap as you have RAM in order to suspend.

Literally worse than windows 10
in windows you have to opt out and disable updates. download directly to manufacturers/sotware website and not connecting to a centralized system.
>>
>>53842783
You can do that in Ubuntu to, lmao.

Man, stop talking. You don't know what you're speaking about but I'll give it to you that tried. :P
