Is there any reason at all to upgrade from Office 2013 to 2016?
>>
If you do a lot of collaborating work with others it could be worth. Otherwise it is pretty much the same as 2013
>>
>>53838643
You are committing the sin of asking for advice with ZERO FUCKING CONTEXT YOU IMBECILE. HOW THE FUK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HELP YOU???? Fucking kill yourself you mongoloid piece of shit.

But anyway, only if you're doing business work. I would NEVER have upgraded if my business wasn't funding the monthly 365 fees. The product is literally identical to 2013, except it has built in 365.
>>
>>53838764
but does that mean I have to deal with the MS Office sharing system? I do work on some collaboration projects, but they usually involve only 1-2 other people and we just email stuff back and forth
>>
>>53838945
My work has licences for both, but what I'm afraid of is that it is just office 2013 with a gigabyte of bloatware to get microshill to use their other crap services.

LibreOffice
>>
>>53839349
I need MS office for work collaboration, and also better EndNote integration
>>
>>53838643
Aren't you paying for it through Office365? You get the upgrade for free then.
>>
>>53839632
>paying for MS office

nah we just have a licence at work for both 2013 and 2016 I think, but we can choose whatever.
>>
>>53839703

2016 defaults to open document formats (odt, odp and so on). Does 2013 do that too?
>>
>>53839941
What are you talking about? Office 2016 defaults to docx just like 2013.
>>

>2016 defaults to open document formats
no it doesn't what the hell

If you want to justify your 16 GB RAM, go ahead.

Otherwise, nothing really changes compared to 2013, which itself is only a tad more user-friendly than 2003, which only has a reorganized UI compared with 97, which remains perfect for power users.

For personal use, no need to go beyond Word 97.
>>
>>53841165
meh. I still use office 2003, with a pretty slick tabbed interface I myself created in VBA, and I do not want anything else.

pic very related.
>>
OP I use it everyday and my honest observation is that it is the same with 2013 but only runs much smoother.

Also it has that interesting Ribbon thing.
>>
>>53841216
here's 10 cents from M$. Well done goy for pleasing us.

I pirated it.

it was about your brainless shilling
>>
>>53839941
Like 2013, it asks you if you want to use OpenDocument or OfficeOpenXML.

And no, there isn't really any point. I upgraded because I can do it for free.

The menus aren't capitalised anymore, so that's something. Other than that I have to say I don't really see the difference, it seems like a reheated 2013.

I do wish LibreOffice wasn't a bit crap, although I will use it in a pinch.
>>
>>53841251
I did not shill I said that indeed it works better than 2013.

I did not say, please buy office 2016 it's superior in all aspects.

I said, dude I use office everyday and from my humble opinion it runs much smoother compared to 2013 on same machine.

Stop being edgy.

After all I don't give a flying fuck what people use, this thread is about our opinion regarding office not about you prospecting posts and trying to find Microsoft shills.

If Office 2013 is cheaper, then go with it - who the fuck cares? You're sacrificing too little, just a slightly better optimization over-all, same features.

Jeeeeeeesus!!!

where is your customized UI ribbon?
