Soapy water and let it dry
>>

thats some thick cum right there

Let it dry, peel it off. Also remember to remove the cmos battery, and if some additional is stuck use 90+% alcohol to clean, leave for a day or two to dry.

I've knocked over an entire pint sized class of water onto a running computer without much adverse effects after drying and removing the cmos battery. It's not as bad as you think.

leave it the glue will act as thermal paste. I should know, I'm the one who spilled that glue and took the picture

I left it to dry for about 2 years in my closet before I tossed it

Impressive

usually when I spell "glue" on your mother "board" I let her take a shower.

>water on electronics

well it's not some magical substance that kills electronics, if you shut it down completely and let it dry before anything important short circuits, it shouldn't damage anything too badly.
>>
>>53837813
This. The real scary shit is when you spill crap like soda.
Or Wine. I did that on my thinkpad years ago and it survived, but I lost the functionality of a few keys.
>>
>>53837813
Now I wanna take an old laptop and dump a glass of water on it and quickly remove the battery and cmos just to see if what you're saying is even remotely true.

>well if it shorts you just didn't remove the power fast enough :^)

Bull shit. All it takes is contact between two points that shouldn't have contact and zap you're done.
>>
>>53838372
do you know if it was electronic damage or "physical" damage (for lack of a better word)?
>>
I just got my 6600k. I had it mounted and was applying some 1 year old thermal paste. It got really stringy at the end and my fan was on so it drizzled all over like a fucked toaster strudel.

I should have been more specific. Don't get me wrong, there's a serious luck factor involved.

If you're fast and lucky enough you won't get damage

>soggy pcb

don't do this, any amount of water doesn't magically damage things, but water damage is still a thing
>>
>>53838420
I don't know, but i would guess "physical". It probably wreaked havoc on the circuit board for the keyboard. The computer continued to run fine after. (But I did rip the battery out just in case).
>>
>>53836794
Stop watching howtobasic
>>
>>53838554
Even then, the capacitor and the cmos battery would fuck shit up
>>
Test if it's conductive with a multimeter. If it's conductive then see if she works, no reason she shouldn't.

Doesn't look like it's covering anything that's going to build up a lot of heat so that shouldn't be a problem.

Covering PCB in random bullshit glues is standard practice in electronics.

If you try peel it off you'll probably pull off a couple of surface mount components with it and fuck the board.

Do any of you dumb fucks even know fucking anything? Seriously even fucking youtube comments are more knowledgeable than the consumerist fuckwads in this thread.
>>
>>53840721

If it's NOT conductive then try it. Fucked up my words.

Correction: If it's NOT conductive then try it. Fucked up my words.
