I had a nexus 5 that I got when it first released and all it ever did was run out of storage and run out of battery. Between both those problems it was a great phone and worked but I had problems with it. Now I'm looking at this and while LG aren't the best with updates they are much better than Samsung or Sony and it has the majority of the specs that I need unlike the new nexuses.

I have to admit I'm disappointed. Although I found the G5 incredibly ugly right from the beginning, I applauded LG for their creativity and freesh look at the smartphone design.
But after watching this and soberly rethinking it, yeah, it had to be done with some compromises. And the build quality is pretty obvious one.

I bought two along with two S7s
family is moving providers so I decided to move to flagships.
still in the mail but I'll update when I get my hands on them.
and about the plastic/metal design, it seems the outside is in fact not plastic, but a thick primer coat over some new Korean aluminum type.
I bought the G5 outright, played with it for a day, and returned it. Phone is a piece of shit. Terrible ROM, terrible camera, boots slower than most flagship phones (despite advertising otherwise - my Note 5 was consistently ten seconds faster, boot after boot - let alone the iPhone SE), and the modular gimmick is just that - a gimmick. Taking out the battery lets you feel just how poorly the phone is constructed, and the actual bottom piece itself is unintuitive (battery is terribly difficult to dislodge).
Unfortunately, I didn't get to play with the different bottom pieces, but I doubt it would have redeemed anything.

It's still MADE of metal, but a pure metal device cannot get reception, so they hide the ugly antenna lines.

I went and played around with the G5 at AT&T today. Definitely plasticy feeling, but it doesn't really feel bad. Bezels are a bit large, and power button's plastic. I could see through a gap at the bottom of the phone. Pretty overhyped, but I'm still getting it. I'm not dealing with Samshit again.

I got almost 30k tracks/~180gb and not a single FLAC meme, and there is still so much shit I want but can't be assed to download.

Every single phone has a metal (likely aluminum) midframe idiot. They advertised this as an anodized phone like an iPhone or HTC one, which should give it metal feel in hand. I can tell even based on the pictures the outermost layer is a hard shell plastic coating. It would retain any metal feel. I don't think this is a big deal, but LG is fucking retarded for digging themselves in a hole like they always do.

I do on my 128gb card and plus the v10 has a ton of internal storage so it's not really a worry in my mind. On top of that using the combo of Neutron and the LG hifi with my monster turbines sounds incredible.
The modular concept is already DOA, no third party is going to produce accessories for a short lived low selling phone.
Reviews are slating the battery life, camera quality (two mediocre cameras do not equal one excellent camera) and terrible aesthetics.
So disappointing, this was going to be my next
