Fucking faggot computer wouldn't let me restore chromeOs after installing windows. apparently you have to boot linux then flash the bios that way. the bios boot drive never worked so i said fuck it and destroyed it. fuck nthat piece of trash, it should have worked correctly and not been so fucking slow and it might have had a longer life

That sounds preposterous to me.
If it were true (and I doubt it), then companies would be selling computers without a windows. This clearly is not happening, so there must be some error in your calculations. I hope you realise that windows is more than just Office ? Its a whole system that runs the computer from start to finish, and that is a very difficult thing to acheive. A lot of people dont realise this.
Microsoft spent $19 billion and many years to make the Windows that we know today, so it does not sound reasonable that some new alternative could just snap into existence overnight like that. It would take billions of dollars and a massive effort to achieve. IBM tried, and spent a huge amount of money developing OS/2 but could never keep up with Windows. Apple has been trying to create their own system for years, but it never came close to what Windows is.
Its just not possible that a freeware like the Linux could be extended to the point where it runs the entire computer from start to finish, without using some of the more critical parts of windows. Not possible.

While it's true that Windows is the most popular because its popular, that is not the reason OEMs don't sell Linux Computers. The way the licensing works is that if an OEM wants to use Windows, ALL computers on that line have to use Windows. You can't have a choice of Windows or Linux at checkout. All of them come with Windows or none of them do.
That's why Dell has to make a "Developer Edition" line. They have to make a special snowflake line of computers just for Linux and to get around the licensing restrictions. And its expensive to maintain double the lineup of computers.
