What does /g/ thing of Linux Mint?

Very easy to use. Was one of my firsts. I'm with Debian now tho.

I personally love it's ease of access too, it's great for newbies and long time users alike imo.
>>
It's a solid distro, though not cutting edge. If it works for you, then use it.

Cinnamon is a very good DE too.
>>
beeb using kde mint for years, no issues

might switch to kubuntu 16.04 once it releases though. or arch

Botnet

Built my parents a media PC running on Mint Xfce. Werks nicely.

Bloated piece of shit, don't use it unless you actually enjoy bloat.

this
It doesn't have as many of more new software in it's repos but other than that I have no complaints.

The older versions before Mint 17 worked OK, but could be crashy and bloaty. Think Windows XP level of crashy/bloaty.

The current Mint (17+) is actually very stable, doesn't bloat and runs a lot lighter than windows 10. It can even be patched with Ubuntu security patches if you're worried about security. It's a great time to drop Windows and give Mint some love if you haven't already. If old Mint was a turn-off, it's a great time for a retry.

I'm really liking this new Mint.

Horrible, I tried 17.2 for a month but it was worse than windows 7 on my laptop.
Now I'm running Ubuntu mate and Fedora e17, both much better.

What DE were you using with Mint? Just saying 'i'm using Mint, it is slow' is meaningless. Mint Cinnamon is slower than Mint Mate, which is slower than Mint XFCE.

Cinnamon.

By slower I meant a less responsive ui overall.
I then moved to mint MATE, which was a little better, but Ubuntu MATE is so much better I can't believe mint uses Ubuntu as its base.
