If not, ask your mother if she knew any of the pins to any of his bank accunts, debit cards, or anything that would require him to use a 4 digit number.
People largely use the same 4 number pins for a variety of different things, as it is much easier to remember.
Also, if he had a workdesk, you can snoop around it and see if there are any passcodes writted under the table/keyboard/anywhere,
