So this is completely unavailable on amazon

Have a lot of money on amazon from a gift card. What's a good mouse to get? Doesn't have to be a gaming mouse but it can be.

I just want a mouse that will last a long time and works well. Buttons on the side are fine as long as it looks simple and minimalistic and not like something out of Transformers.

Are you talking about the Zowie?

Because I can't get that one. Not on amazon
>>
>>53791551
check superbiiz, got my ec1-a from them with no issues. if you want an ambidextrous mouse, also check out their za series. the za12 is the most similar to the fk iirc
>>
>>53791678
I have like $90 on amazon from a gift card. I'd want to spend that since I have nothing else to spend it on.
>>
>>53791704
ah, gotcha. looks like all the za mice are in stock on amazon.

some other good mice to consider would include the logitech g303/g402/g502, steelseries rival 100/300, roccat kpm, ducky secret, mionix castor/naos optical, probably some others i'm forgetting

lots of solid options for you, pick whatever you think suits your hand most. i love my zowie but i honestly think the "no drivers" thing is more of a lazy copout than a feature. i'd just stay away from razer personally.
>>
Mionix are what Razer used to be in those Diamondback times.
>>
I was interested in the zowie fk1, but seeing the mionix castor and the customization through the drivers for things like liftoff distance makes me interested in that. Does the castor have fine dpi settings or was it just presets?

>>
>>53791551
Zowie has been bought by BenQ. Amazon is probably waiting for new stock from BenQ rebrands and is out of stock for Zowie mice.
Just wait a bit.
>>
>>53792267
I saw on an amazon review that it runs at a low sensitivity.

The sensitivity can be adjusted to run how my current mouse runs right? I don't want super low or high sensitivity.
>>
>>53792202
stay away, imo. i decided to give razer a fair shake not too long ago thinking that the deathadder (2013) was their only decent product.

it's a comfortable, lightweight, and precise mouse marred by awful, awful quality control and always-online drivers. i went through three of those cheaply built mice within the span of six months. each had its own build quality quirks and died in different ways.

i'm never ever rough with any of my peripherals, but once deathadder #3's scroll wheel began to crap out on me in the middle of a dota match, i picked it up and slammed it down on my desk decently hard. the mouse didn't work at all after that.

tl;dr: stay away and get a zowie ec1-a instead
>>
>>53792353
In general you have (I believe) four different DPI settings and can even increase the polling rate of the mouse.
All without drivers. Pretty neat.
>>
>>53792353
>>53792421
dpi settings are 400, 800, 1600, and 3200

there's not much point in going past 800 dpi unless you have a 4k monitor or something. keep in mind that it's just a measure of sensitivity, not accuracy as is commonly advertised.

>>
I'm after a mouse with a quiet wheel. That's it (aside from forward/backward buttons).
>>
>>53795163
The first three problems have been fixed since early 2015.

The BenQ-branded mice used Omron switches for a while but there was a recall citing reliability issues. They'll probably reintroduce them at some point in the future.

>>
>>53795416
What would qualify as quiet?

Biggest issue for me is that eventhe EC-1 series is too fucking small however.

I figured you meant "shit" as in "having legitimate issues" rather than "I don't like the scroll speed" or "the coating feels weird to me". None of the new mice have any of the outstanding issues that some of the older models had with coatings peeling off and mousewheels skipping.

Out of curiosity, what are you using currently? I find it a bit hard to believe that anyone would think the EC1-A is too small. It's roughly the same size as a Deathadder.

I dislike Razer as much as the next guy, but in terms of hardware, the Deathadder Chroma I got about two to three years ago (when I was younger and stupider) has served me fairly well. The grip is a little awkward because I have piano fingers and long nails, but nothing's broken and the customization options are nice. I wouldn't endorse it, but at the very least I'll keep using it until the hardware goes tits-up.

As nice as Microsoft mice are when OC'd, we're getting to the point where polling rate mods will eventually be a thing of the past now that motherboards are straight-USB 3.0/3.1, as polling rate mods only work on 2.0, and as of now, either your Microsoft mouse dies a final death, and eBay is nothing but Chinese fakes, or you eventually decide to put your mouse out to pasture for good because it's either that, or a refusal to change your mobo

The future is native polling rate adjustment or bust
