Is it possible with an unrooted android phone?

I've had problems having no working computer the past few days and need to write a Linux .iso to a microSD card mounted on my phone. There appear to be no android apps that look to be able to do this. If I could successfully write an image downloaded on my phone to my mounted MSD card with an app, it would be great. Probably need root for that, right? And you can't really root without a computer, I don't think. See the issue?

Any tips would be great, even "no you fuckface you can't do that"

Root only

Root your phone? It's not that hard and opens up more capabilities. SuperSU is my usual route.

LG G3 is not supported by towelroot. Don't think superSU does it either.

If you had root, it would be as simple as the dd command in a terminal. As it stands, since you don't have root permissions, it shouldn't be able to write arbitrary data to a volume as you would need for making a bootable SD card.

Public library, internet cafe, borrow a friend's PC

It looks like towelroot does support the g3, unless you have some weird version of it or have a shitty carrier that prevents rooting.

I attempted it less than an hour ago, might be Verizon jewing me over.

Found the problem. Drop those assholes and get a carrier that doesn't hate its customers. T-Mobile works for me, but I rarely leave the city. If you're rural, AT&T might be your only other option.

Tried T-Mobile but its coverage is only in the very center of my town as far as data goes. At&t is VERY nsa friendly, and so is Verizon.
I just wish I could have a cellphone plan with no data for like $20 a month. Fuck
