Picture related.
So I'm going to be paying a guy I know about 1200-1300 for a custom made gaming desktop. And he says he won't be making any profit. I don't know if it's too good to be true, and I am getting ripped off. Here are the specs.
CPU: i5 4690
GPU:gtx 970 4b
Motherboard: unknown he picked it out
RAM: 16 GB RAM of unknown
CPU fan: unknown brand
Motherboard: unknown
Water cooling: custom made and will go through my CPU and GPU
Case: custom made of acrylic. Will be made from style with different led lights inside
Built in raspberry pi: have no idea why I agreed to it, but he is adding a pi built into my case that will read myv emps and statuses
Monitors: 2 aoc 22 inch IPS monitors
Power supply: unknown but will be good enough
And then a keyboard and mouse, no idea which ones but he said for gaming.
So am I getting a good deal here. He said he's not making any profit and let me choose my parts. What do you think.

I doubt you'll be able to get a custom water loop for the CPU and GPU for that budget, even if he isn't making any money.
The cost for a custom water loop alone is around $500 for a CPU and single GPU. + fans, radiator, tubing, fittings, etc.
Why not just look up the parts yourself and check the price?
Why not just build it yourself since it's even easier than building a lego set?

Yes am getting gtx 970 4gb 3.5 card. Will be playing at 1080 p
>>53773014
Do you have special needs OP? Or do just want a machine that Just Werks for games?
Because you can get the cpu + gpu + a decent mobo + ram + power supply and storage for wayyyyyy less than $1200. Paying for water cooling on a 970 is kind of silly when a 980 at stock speeds will be cheaper. The raspi thing sounds retarded, the acrylic case sounds retarded and probably will offer crappy thermals without that overkill watercooling.

>970 4b
moar lyk 3.5 GB
>>53773209
Op here
Reason I'm not getting 980 is cause it's slightly faster, and too overkill for 1080p. Plus I intend on upgrading in a few years and water cooling would be nice.
also acrylic isn't that retarded. Really just hardened plastic. The case sill be like half plexi glass and half acrylic. All see through like in that picture.
So basically am I getting a bad deal here?
>more money than sense: the thread
>>53773014
You should ditch the custom case bullshit and go for higher quality components.
>>53773209
OP
This is how raspberry pi will be iny desktop. It will be a interface touchpad in my case. That I can tweak and play with. Is this retarded oR cool?
Doubt it's ever been done

Bull fucking shit. Do you have any idea how much this kind of thing costs?

That's a little pathetic honestly. I'm sorry that you're too poor to buy nvidia.

This is OP
I have no idea how much something like this costs, please inform me m8

More than $1300 mate. A custom CPU+GPU water loop by itself is AT LEAST $400.
A custom-made case (if it really is custom-made, which I doubt) will run AT LEAST $300.
Those monitors are worth about $200
That's $900, leaving $400 to buy the actual computer.
>>53774882
He is gonna make the case. I'm going to make it with him
>>53774953
Shit still doesn't add up. You need to get a full parts list of this custom loop, specifically
>waterblocks
>tubing
>pump
>reservoir
>radiators
>fans
>>53773014
If you're getting all that shit for that price, it's pretty damn great. See if you can get a 290/390 though, to take advantage of the water cooling
