>Start your projects early
>Visit TA/Prof once a week even if you "get it"
>Learn how to debug/test first; don't write spaghetti code
>Keep your resume updated
>Don't skip any networking events/job fairs
>If you want to stand out (top ~5%) put some shit on github or contribute to open source projects
>Get an ADHD prescription
Congrats, welcome to 4.0 GPA and Google job land

because its just a programming degree so you can be a little better than pajeet
if you're asking seriously, the only way to be successful is by challenging yourself with the math

Major in anything other than CS
So would it be better to get a math degree and study code on the side?
Btw I'm not op

smoke meth everyday

Very much so. But don't stop at coding; learn some data structures, algorithms, architecture, graphics, OS and networks while you're at it (don't worry, it sounds more intimidating/immense than it really is)

This. In addition to all of this I'd recommend supplementing your learning with theory books. Depending on your university you may miss out on a lot of 'real' CS.
Having a portfolio with real projects (not just, 'I made a text-based calculator in C that does addition and subtraction!') helps a lot too.

Depends on where you live I guess, where I am from programming is taught on trade schools, just a tiny fraction of CS courses are actual programming, its mostly math 'n stuff.

what would constitute a 'real' project?
>Listening to memelords on /g/
Most of them haven't done anything beyond fizzbuzz,
You're not going land a job with "Hello I rice Desktops" CV
Most serious companies won't even look at you if you don't have a degree.

A pulse and a body temperature somewhere roughly in the upper 90s
>>53769404
You can get a waiver for temperatures in the 80's
>>53766567
A brain -.- you srsly don't need anything else...
>>53768143
Getting a good base on programming at school is better than learning it all on your own. Any degree is better than none for later.
