I made a live USB with Kubuntu.
Should I do it? I've been on Xubuntu for over a year.
>>
I've been on Kubuntu for a while now.
It's nice.
>>
>>53766361
Surprisingly, arch kde is not nearly as glitchy as kubuntu
>>
>>53766361
No, Xfce is better
>>
>>53766361
>install openSUSE
>>
>>53766739
Why tho?
>>
>>53766798
It just works
KDE works like a charm, proprietary drivers are easy to install, it's damn stable, it can be debloated easily while installing, good repos
>>
>>53766823
Opensuse is slow, outdated, and shit.

Install Fedora
>>
>>53766861
Interesting. But isn't Fedora like, unstable and stuff, for being a testing project for RedHat's other distro that they charge money for?
>>
Yeah, do it. I used to hate KDE but since Plasma 5 it's actually been quite pleasant to use.
>>
>>53766361
apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
>>
>>53766893
Which distro?
>>
>>53766909
why would anyone want to have 2 DEs and bloating his own system even more
>>
>>53766861
>implying
It works actually better on my machines than Fedora. My machines are running KDE and LXQT.
>>
>>53766361
If you really want to install a new distro just for KDE, install Arch
>>
>>53766361
>ubuntu fork
>ever
Stop being a cuck and just use Mint
:^)

>>53766878
This.

>>53766977
Nice b8
5/7
>>
>>53766958
Wait , isnt the stable version of LXQt coming with the 16.04 Lubuntu? Is there a stable version now? Does it work good? Shit..
>>
>>53766990
>nice b8
I have no idea what you're talking about m8. I was being completely serious.
>>
>>53766977

top kek
>>
>>53766991
https://en.opensuse.org/LXQT
It is stable enough.

>>53767001
Mint is a fork of Ubuntu.
>>
>>53766977
Isnt Mint just another fork? And do they even ship version with KDE Plasma and not fucking KDE 4?
>>

>>
>>53766991
Considering they have LXDE in both of their betas, Lubuntu won't have LXQt at all.
>>
>>53767022
>https://en.opensuse.org/LXQT
I thought they ship a version with ready LXQt so I can make a live cd to try it. Its easier than installing and bloating my current system with packages.
>>
>>53767036
Really?
I mean on their website under 15.10 they say "General bug fix release as we prepare for LXQt."
>>
>>53767035
>impying these benchmarks are worth a shit
>>
>>53767035
Even if Fedora is "faster" and shit, its still unstable when just being ON...
>>53767065
also this
>>
>>53767042
The installer allows you to choose exactly, which packages you want to install.
>>
>>53767056
Theres no proper installer in these betas as well, just Debian with different colors. Beta 1 comes without a wallpaper if I'm not mistaken. My guess is they fucked up with timings.
>>
>>53767091
So I just need to download their stable version, thats nice, thanks
>>
Is KDE the only DE with Dolphin?
>>
>>53767035
>http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux-sep15-6way&num=2

opensuse was using NOOP for those tests, the actual release ships with deadline.
they aren't worth shit
>>
>>53766361
Do you have a decent pc?
Then yes. KDE is nice
>>
>>53767140
I know about other DE's using QT but not Dolphin sadly
>>
>>53767206
Sadly indeed, Dolphin is the only good thing that came from KDE team...
>>
>>53766361
Install Ubuntu GNOME
>>
>>53766361
sudo mount /dev/sdv1 /mnt/usb
sudo rm -rf /mnt/usb
>>
>>53766861
Fedora is the most unstable pos I've used in the Linux world.

Figured I would give fedora 23 a try to see how it compares to Debian which I've been using for ages.

Long story short. Fuck it up the ass, stability trumps slightly more updated packages.
>>
>>53766361
Just wait 16.04 will be out soon
>>
Best KDE distro right now? Or the best way to use KDE without bugs and crashes?
>>
>>53766386
Why would that be surprising?
>>
>>53766361
>KDE5
Yes anon *crashes* it's fucking grea*crashes* don't hesitate anym*crashes*
>>
>>53769589
This. Have 16.04 beta 2 in a vm and it feels bretty gud. Wait until its release and go for it.
>>
>>53766361
Plasma is buggy, ugly, unstable garbage. I have to use this shit on university workstations and it regularly crashes or otherwise finds a way to totally eat shit, not to mention it looks like a cheap attempt to cash in on the flat meme and somehow manages to fuck it up even more than Microshit.
>>
>>53766361
You fucked up anon
>>
>>53766861
>outdated
literally tumbleweed
Got Gnome 3.20 a couple of days after its release
>>
>>53767029
IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO XDD
