What's the benefit in spraying a computer with smoke? I know fuck all about them, but it seems to me like it would damage it. I called the dudes at Best Buy, but they don't carry it. Any help would be appreciated.

mesquite gives your computer more zip

That's just compressed air pushing the dust out of the computer.

Unless you mean something totally not related to the .webm

I hope he disconnected the fans from the motherboard first, or at least jammed the blades with toothpicks or something.

What you are seeing in that video is years of dust being blown out of an old design desktop PC with an air compressor.

The smoke you are seeing is dust being pushed out with compressed air.

Those old desktops had a bad habit of being a dust magnet and older the pc = more dust.

Those who know what that is consider the a good feel moment as dust does result in poor thermal issues which will affect overall hardware performance.

That aside if you do use an air compressor use one with the attachment or is specialised for trying paint.
A normal air compressor with no attachments attached will spray both air and water moisture.

Why should he do that?

A fan is just a turbine going the other way. Blow air across a case fan and it generates a charge, which -might- be enough to fuck up a motherboard.

huh never thought about that, who knew id learn something from a troll thread?
also, op's video is so satisfying

Air compressors generate liquid after use, that's why you need to regularly empty the drainage valve it comes out as dirty black water, a safe guard is to use a water trap filter on the hose connecting to the air gun. Spraying on your PC parts without a water filter is going to damage some point in time. To avoid all this cleaning stuff just get a good case with positive airflow and many dust filters, i haven't cleaned out my tower for 1 year now its in a carpeted room which i regular vacuum.

meant to add, there is zero dust in my case its a Corsair 780T

no it wont. spinning the blades with a high psi air compressor generates a max of 5v. that wont do anything to your board. and its usually momentary, so even less residual voltage. youre far more likely to blow off a small component or discharge inpurities from the air line.

air canisters or small compressors pose no threat whatsoever.

I'd rather waste the miniscule effort of toothpicking a fan as a precaution than fall victim to a freak failure that probably won't happen. I don't hot plug video cables for the same reason.
