Technically you can find most anime it has on nyaa/bakaBT. But it won't be well seeded and it may not be the best encode (because bakaBT is retarded).
However for manga, there is no tracker that comes close. AB has the largest collection of high quality manga on the internet. Granted a few of them are shitty scans of official books. The rest are digital or high resolution scans, and they're great.

As the CEO of Valve said, "Piracy is a service problem." The way I see it, there are very few legal alternatives that can compete with the value proposition of WCD/PTP/BTN including the interface and back catalog. Netflix is focusing on developing its own content and slowly abandoning the ridiculously expensive licensing process. Granted, streaming is easier than torrenting, but it's less of an issue when you have a seedbox with Plex/Sonarr/Couchpotato.
I say this as an established member (/setforlife/ as people here say). If I were starting with nothing today, I'd just say fuck it and go with Spotify/Netflix/Hulu/Rutracker for muh hipster music

HDB has 17k+ users and AHD has 7k+ users. HDB has many longtime users who source Criterion Blurays and AHD is relatively recent by comparison. Trust me when I say that the catalog is a lot bigger and more comprehensive.
I'm on both for over 2 years now and I go to HDB more because my taste is more likely to be satisfied by the HDB catalog. AHD is good solely because the community is very chill and they have even more freeleech than HDB. That's really about it.
