Mainstream distros like Ubanto and Fedora fight for brand recognition.
Especially Fedora, because compared to Ubanto it seriously lacks in sheer number of package maintainers and testers.
Noone gives a shit whether the people working on it are male, female, white, brown, black transnigger, whatever.
Electing a "diversity advisor" probably just means erecting an illusion screen of hugbox atmosphere (which doesn't matter, neither Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint have the toxic atmosphere of Arch for example) that whiny millenials need to be assured of "safe working space".
