I don't know how new to linux you are, but on mint there is a stock wm, you can change that wm and also rice on mint as well, you don't need arch for ricing. You just need to learn how to install a customizable wm, like i3, awesome etc. IF you can learn how to do that on mint, on arch it will be the same.
The general way on arch is to install the package of the wm you want, for example "sudo pacman -S <wm here>", then edit your ~/.xinitrc with "exec <wm here>" then every time you login you type startx, but you can also set it to autorun the command "startx".
Hope I helped. When you first install a customizable WM it will look really ugly, so I'd suggest just finding a rice you like online then copying their dotfiles so that you can cope with your WM looking ugly and you have a base to work on. Then just improve however you like.
