ok /g, let's have a new disk thread.
i want to expand my limitate storage ( actually 1TB + 4TB raid1 NAS) so i decided to buy another HDD to stick in my main rig.
my 1TB one is a WDblue 7200 rpm 64MB cache.
in your opinion what sould i do?
a) buy another 1TB WDblue and make a raid0
b) buy a 2TB WDred because "muh 5 years warranty"
c) buy HGST 2TB enterprise series that costs as much as wd red but it sounds like a fucking jet engine

actually seagate is quite competitive, but i son't trust memegate memecuda, so fuck the low price.

Is an internal HDD like a 4/6TB WD Red/WD Blue/Hitachi Deskstar NAS Edition a reliable way to store movies and shows? I don't feel like I am at the point to use a full-blown NAS.

A single drive is NEVER a reliable way.

Damn, ok then. I guess the only two options are Netflix+Crunchyroll or RAID NAS?
>>

a NAS is not "necessary". what is necessary is a backup drive , and for this i suggest to use a raid1.

Ah, of course. Thanks for the input, I'll start looking into this then.
