I agree, but I'm pretty sure there are rare exceptions, considering how many poo in the loo tier programmers there are out there.
anything longer than a line or two needs its own function\class or whatever. a single function\class should never be too big to fit on the screen. functions and methods should be pure wherever possible.

A single class on a single screen? Maybe with two columns, but give me a Pencil class with getters and setters for lead size, lead amount, pencil color, the amount of lead outside the pen and a method to click out more lead. I want to see that on a single 1080p monitor with size 11 font.
