helium hood is painless, not that you would actually.

so what drives one to take in air when holding their breath? do we instead detect a build up of co2?

yes as far as im aware we actually detect the co2 levels.

When you expel air and have nothing in your lungs thats a pressure thing which causes you to breath in i think

You'd still be pumping blood with CO2 through there. If the concentrations between your blood and the gas in your aveoli aren't favorable, CO2 will stay in your blood, thus tripping the CO2 sensor. Also, there is a system for detecting low oxygen, but I think that was in the spinal fluid or carotid, so it's a lot slower anyhow.
>>53708676
Also, I hear they put in 20% oxygen in N2 or He cylinders to prevent their use as painless exit strategies. That's the same amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, so you won't leave that way.

Depends on where you get the helium from. If you buy a pre-filled bottle, this can be true. If you rent a bottle and ask it to be filled with (pure) helium(or nitrogen)/have your own bottle filled

Ubuntu is pretty good for newbies because it's so widely used with a large support base.

If you want to mess around with the OS itself, just go for the newest, so 15.10.

If you want to use the OS as a platform to do something else, like program, use the latest stable/long term, so 14.04.4 LTS. 16.04 LTS will be coming out next month though.

I download NewPipe, play something, turn off screen and it'll play for a bit but then stop. I think it has something to do with processes. I tried using the external player, but it still happened.
>>
>>53714106
This is probably the order in which you should upgrade, as you get more money

Buy more ram
Buy a better cpu
Buy a bigger hdd
get a gpu
buy more ram if you don't have 8gb yet
>>
>>53714128
Are you using greenify or any other battery saving apps like that?
Try whitelisting newpipe if you are using anything like that.
>>
>>53714106
it's fine just needs about 8gb ram and a Linux distro, I recommend Ubuntu
>>
>>53713971
>Cloned the partition
Clone the boot loader too.
>>
>>53714106
get a q6600 add some ram and buy some second used video card
>>
>>53714134
OS is 32 bit so the maximum useable would be 3GB
>>
>>53714106
This piece of shit really needs some RAM.
Your best bet is getting used Ram because new DDR2 ram is going to cost a fucking fortune for being so old.
>>
>>53714160
How to do that? Is it a separate option in GParted, or is it shown as another partition?

I saw a tiny partition before the main Windows one, but I thought that was just some Dell recovery thing
>>
>>53714160
would just using dd if=(old drive) of=(new drive) work?
>>
>>53714134
>>53714150
>>53714169
>>53714182

ok guys, i will upgrade RAM first then, thanks for the answers

btw max ram for the motherboard is 4gb, so 8gb is impossible
>>
>>53714229
I don't know if GParted can do that. The easiest way would be to just clone the entire drive.
>I saw a tiny partition before the main Windows one
Yeah, you probably need that too.

>>53714250
It would work, but it would clone the entire drive. Add something like bs=512 count=1 if you only want the bootloader (on MBR, not sure about GPT).
>>
>>53714307
any reason not to just do bs=4M?

and I might as well just clone the whole thing. I have a Linux partition too, it would be nice if I could save that too. I know it will take forever but that's ok

I don't use my 12.7mm drive
>>
>>53714337
The MBR containting the bootloader is in the first 512 bytes of the drive, that's why you would use bs=512.

If you want to clone the whole thing, the block size doesn't really matter but a bigger one like 4M will speed things up.

I recently got an S7 and I just ran benchmark tests on the Samsung Browser, Chrome & Firefox.

They were less than a hundred points from one another, so I guess I'm just going with the one I like using the most since there's hardly a difference in performance.

My issue, however, is that the scores for each browser were in the 2200-2400 range, and I noticed that the highest scores listed on the site (basemark.com) are 5000+ w/ Chrome on the Nexus 5 & M8.

Why are my scores so low on a brand new flagship phone?

My house was recently built/reformed. It received lots of Ethernet cables (inside the walls), but only one is working! I suspect the man hired to make this cable management did not finished its work. How can I discover what is the problem, and solve (end the work)?

I tested by plugging one side on a router (I tried 2 routers), and the other on my netbook, and then proceeded to pinging Google.
>>
>>53714496
Add a GParted Live usb and a Hiren's Boot CD usb.

For software, I always use CCleaner, Defraggler (it's better than built in defrag), and MBAM. That clears up most of the "my computer is running slow" issues.

For tools, you need to add needlenose pliers, electrical tape, and superglue. If computers weren't always designed like shit and broken, you wouldn't need those, but you do. A cheap multimeter and some little wires with alligator clips are helpful as well, for diagnosing PSU issues and fixing shit related to power. Compressed air is essential. Wire cutters/strippers and an RJ45 crimper are good.

Also, I recommend some magnetic bowls or tupperware dishes or something for managing screws. They get fucking everywhere.

A headlamp that points down is fucking godlike sometimes, and a magnifying glass.

Its an ethernet tester, put one end at one location and the other at the other location, itl tell you through the little lights whats wrong between those two points (no connectivity, missing some of the wires, the wires are in the wrong places, etc.)
>>
>>53714664
You need a special tester for that.

It's a big handheld device that plugs into the wire on one end, and comes with several little remotes. You plug those into other ends that you suspect might be the right one. When you press a button, the remote connected to the other end of that wire beeps. Keep doing that until you know what wires go where, make a little map. Then working on figuring what wires *should* go where, and what to change.

This is one of those tools. It's expensive, but I think there are cheaper options out there.

>>
>>53714616
why python and not bash also what arguments are you using with ffmpeg?

>>

>>53714693
is one of those "cheaper options". It's a pain in the ass cause you only have one remote, you have to move it each time to test where each wire goes. Still, though, it will do the job if you're poor.
>>
>>53714760
Why all these remotes?

Can a Dell UltraSharp U2515H with it's 6ms still play twitch shooters games without ghosting problems?
>>
>>53714804
Didn't you read the post? When you don't know where a wire goes, you plug the big thingy into one end, and the remotes into all the ends you think might be the other end of that wire. The one that beeps is the right one.

Your goal is to find out where every single wire starts and ends. Once you know that, you will know which ones need to be connected to solve your problem.

Did I spell it out clearly enough for you this time? You're lucky I'm stuck waiting for MBAM to scan so I have time to spoonfeed your dumb ass.

Is Super Anti-Spyware even relevant anymore? Does it catch anything that MBAM doesn't?

All the old school PC fixing people use it because it used to catch some things MBAM couldn't, but I've never seen it do that in the past year or two.

>>53711217
If you're using something like Ubuntu, get unity tweak tools
>>
>>53714865

And if you're that broke, a cheaper solution might be to just buy a cheap switch and use it on the one ethernet port that works. Save your money for subsistence stuff. Also, call the boss of the man who installed your Ethernet and try to make him fix it for free.

How big is the possibility that rooting my tablet with this method will brick it?

" How to root any android phone manually
For rooting the android phone, your android debugging must be ON and you will require following things.

1. A linux machine, in my case ubuntu
2. adb - It can downloaded by following command on linux terminal
$ sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb
3. busybox, Superuser.apk, psneuter

When you have it execute the following command step-wise.

$ adb devices

This will list all the devices connected to the computer, if "no devices" is promting, check whether your USB Debugging is ON, which is present in developer options under settings.

$ adb push psneuter /data/local/tmp
This copy the file in your device and now we will execute this file.
$ adb shell
$ cd /data/local/tmp
$ chmod 777 psneuter
$ ./psneuter

now it will run

$ adb kill-server
$ adb devices
$ adb shell

now # will appear in place of $, or after typing $su

# mount -o remount,rw -t rfs /dev/block/st19/system
# exit
$ adb push busybox /system/bin
$ adb push su /system/bin
$ adb install Superuser.apk
$ adb shell
# chmod 4755 /system/bin/busybox
# chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
# mount -o remount,ro -t rfs /dev/block/st19/system
# exit
$ adb reboot

now device will reboot and device will be rooted and su app will appear in app drawer."
