MS always has amazing research over the years.
but then they never actually make it into a practical product or you dont hear about it anymore.

are they just patenting shit? waiting for it to become economical?
>>
>>53694484
>to do this you only have to buy 20 Z deapth cameras and arrange them exactly as we tell you.
>This will cost you 20,000 for cameras and 20,000 for propriatary data transfer system.

Yes, the dark side is strong with Microsoft.

I am sending my apprentice to insure this technology will exclusively belong to me.

Why when we could be seeing it before our very eyes.

I imaging people will use this technology to see dead family members

Not op, but I don't see why the software couldn't be adapted to modify you projected appearance. But someone would need to take the time to program it.

But you will likely get a lot of interface graphics glitches when interacting with real objects, more so if you scaled a lot of your outer dimensions like height. After all the computer may make you look smaller, but you still can't sit in a tiny chair because it only changes the appearance not your real size.

Although you could solve some of these issues if you applied similar virtual overlay onto the things in the room, but that would increase the system demands significantly.

But if you just wanted to look like a loli dancing on an open floor that shouldn't be too hard. Much like how this user is overlayed with a bear modifier (pic, double related).

execute order 66

Sounds like a weird cross between The Matrix, Sword Art Online and a few other things.

Sorry, that command or program is not recognized. Please contact Microsoft tech support.

or

Order 66 not found under listed executable. Did you mean Order 66.6 to connect with Microsoft sever?

Actually you could cross this with something like laser tag and sword art online to make some very interesting arcade hotspots.

A team goes into one of these setup to genetic tactile feedback construction (think low grade holodeck) to explore or have matches with other teams. As long as the set boundaries are defined before and good processing and bandwidth are available the users could learn to ignore the slight disconnect, much like how some games actually managed to use the kinetic.
>>
>>53694484
Friendly reminder, all those billions that msft makes when people buy their shitty software and devices, this is how they are spending it: on stupid meme technology that has no practical use. This is the motto of tech companies lately, spend money first, ask questions later.

It doesn't matter to them or any other of the big tech companies.

yeah this is going to costs a fuckton of money

That prototype gear is probably worth $10,000

To be fair, everyone thought that table was a joke:

the surface grew out of their Courier concept, which was a GREAT idea:

>>53698826
That was an incredibly relaxing video, but the split in the middle seems like a bad idea as you can't devote the entire screen to a single task like most people would be doing most of the time.
>>
>>53698662
It makes sense. This is not ready for the every day consumer - I can see big time applications for this shit. Corporate, engineering, all sorts of other scientific fields, medicine, there are a ton of applications.

Jesus christ Microsoft you invented a hologram, you don't need to keep giving all your new shit these fucking inaccurate buzzword names.
