I've been thinking about downgrading back to Mavericks my old MacBook Air (2010) because El Crapitan doesn't give me more than 1 and a half of battery life, also it's becoming slower every day. Any software incompatibilities with it, i.e. any program refusing to run on anything older than Yosemite/El Cap? Otherwise I'll just install some lightweight Linux distro.

Other than that, I switch between my desktop and laptop a lot, both have very similar desktop environment (in the literal sense of the word, not GNOME or KDE or whatever shit), so the hostname helps remind me what machine I'm using.

Tell me about it. My newest laptop is 6 years old and everything I could upgrade to has some kind of significant drawback I don't want to deal with.
I largely blame the high-quality industry's obsession with thinness. I can choose between a giant hulking monster of a "gaming laptop", generic cheap shit with sufficient specs but terrible interface devices, or premium shit that's pleasant to use but lacks basic hardware in favor of being a quarter centimeter thinner.

You might want to get a newer version though, they offer higher resolutions, capasitive touch, touchpads, real processors and more storage. I'd get one myself if I could find one for a fair price.

Well they're making me never upgrade by not supplying the perfect product. It only works if they can maintain the complete nonexistence of the perfect product from both themselves and all their competitors for around a decade straight, fighting pressure from competitors to create something good to take all the business of people waiting.
I'm more inclined to think that most consumers are just stupid and will buy whatever regardless of its quality, so there's no incentive to put money into high quality manufacturing.

It's pretty much a stock Cmder with a fancy Windows theme. Cmder is great for tabbed powershell. It's not as good as Win10's console but it's a helluva lot better than PowerShell and cmd.exe in earlier versions.
