How do I find out which website(s) needs to be whitelisted in order for a website to work properly?
Temporarily whitelisting every single one (pic related) takes a long time and is a major pain in the ass.
Example:
I click on a button, nothing happens. Does this get logged somewhere? Can I use addons like Firebug to check for this?

When there are that many third party bullshit scripts I just close the page.

Upgrade to uMatrix senpai.

That being said, uMatrix also has the same guesswork going on. But because you can subscribe to filter lists and stuff, shit like advertising.com would be in the shitlist already, making it much easier to weed out the actual content.
Other than that, it's a learning process pretty much. You'll learn to identify some commonly used CDNs and you'll learn that for example fbcdn.net belongs to Facebook so allow at your own risk etc.

I don't know about this but

Obviously you never need to whitelist anything that has advertise in domain name, nothing useful from your point of view comes from there. So that's most things already cut out.
Clearly start with the site's domain first and go from there. Google analytics never needs to be unblocked, google sometimes does. Captcha and that. Facebooks domains, including fbcdn - don't bother.
What post above mine says, you'll get used to seeing same cdns over and over again.

I've been using NoScript for many years. At this point I'm just too lazy to switch to something else. That being said, I've tried uMatrix for a short period and it's definitely on par with NoScript.
I've built up a solid whitelist with CDNs and the like over the years. Still, from time to time there are sites that don't use any of them and require the trial and error whitelisting method.
