Which is better? I'm about to build a rig for graphic intensive shit and the monitor I'm eyeing has gsync capabilities so I'm kinda leaning towards nvidia. But I heard AMD has gotten a lot better.
im good with the x radeon driver
I swear on me mum if you buy a gsync monitor and an AMD card I'll bash you.
>>53663484
I'm just wondering if AMD cards are significantly better. Enough to make me switch monitors.
do this one
I'm running an AMD card from 2008 still if that means anything to you op.
>>53663656
No. Any NVidia card blows ts AMD equivalent out of the water, all while consuming less power and having actual driver support.
Oh, and you don't have the risk of drivers killing your card.
G-Sync is just a nice bonus.
AMD will be bankrupt and gone by christmas, if you want any long term support at this point it's better to stay with NVidia.
>>53663699
Nvidia only wins at
950>370
980ti>fury/x
And not enough to say 'blow out of the water'
>consumes less power
Doesn't consume much less
'But muh tdp'
nvidia measures by average both at idle and under load while radeon is worst case.
>drivers
Fuckin really? Nvidia just had a bad driver release, don't believe this meme for a second
>>53663749
>not trusting Koduri and Keller
>>53663843
Do the best nvidia cards beat the best AMD cards? I'm looking to get something high end.
>>53663447
What are the graphically intensive things you'll be doing
if graphics intense shit means you are doing stuff that requires a beefy gpu then get an nVidia card because of CUDA capabilities, atleast a 970
>>53663942
league of legends, and I have a lot of anime in 1080p
>>53663917
Yes, easily.
>>53663942
Photoshop, Rhino, 3dsmax, Revit, Autocad, Gaming.
>>53663917
Yeah 980ti is the best card right now but with dx12 the fury x matches or beats it plus theres also the gameworks which isnt a good thing
>>53663447
>Better
If you buy a Fury. DO NOT BUY rebrand cards or give me your money instead.
>>53663917
High end nvid is super powerful.
>>53663952
You need nothing more than a gtx 950 or even an a10-7870k
>>53663956
>>53663976
>>53663991
Ok cool. One of my friends recommended me the LG 34" ultrawide and I really like it for when I do sound editing and things that require a lot of horizontal space, so I'm thinking maybe I'll get an Ultrawide. Probably the Acer x34 Predator.
Would this be good enough for the monitor or would something even lower end still take full advantage of it?
>>53663964
Put as much money in a gpu as you feel necessary bare minimum will probably be r9 380 or gtx 960
>>53664044
Awesome, thanks
>>53663917
Yes. Nvidia owns the high end market.
>>53664175
No R9 380 > GTX 960 and R9 390 > GTX 970 while costing less.
>>53664437
If you've got an overclocked i7 to deal with the insane driver overhead maybe.
>>53664437
I agree, but I was kind of thinking of those cards as more toward the high end of middle end.
