Hey /g/, is there a language that strikes a nice balance between the simplicity and eloquence of C, and the ease of use of C++? I'm tired of the clusterfuck that is C++ and it's over reliance on boost, but can't imagine being able to work effectively in plain C. I also need good multi-precision support, whether that's part of the languages standard library or external. Is D any good?
If you want a language that is just fun to use: Ruby
If you want to actually learn something: Haskell
If you want something that is actually useful stick to C/C++
If you're interested in D go learn it

Do you enjoy answering questions like "why?", "what's wrong with you?" and "for what purpose?" If you answered yes to all three then D is the language for you.

C++ is fine as long as you aren't fighting the language and just go with the flow.
