You would be installing it inside a virtual machine. This just removes the risk of you leaving yourself with an unbootable OS which is a pain.

The original movie was really great and I liked it a bunch, but the anime wasn't great and I decided that I was done after the episode where girls are skinned alive because it was just trying so hard to be gritty and managing only to be cruel and disgusting. And not in that it was portraying a cruel world—it made the director and staff seem like objectively shitty people.
