Nothing that exciting.
The CPU temps are actually at 40-45.
Replaced my 120GB boot SSD with a 500GB one for longevity, sample packs, games and dualbooting.
Want to sell my Acer monitor and get a second U2515H.
Thinking of getting an extra 8GB of RAM for muh music production.
Also thinking of moving all of the shit on my 2TB HDD to one of my many externals.

Oooooh, a ZX Spectrum! It brings me back so much memories from my ZX81!

I actually never used a ZX Spectrum, the one I got from my father had an entire line that wasn’t working and couldn’t be repaired, so I stayed on the ZX81. I’ll never thank enough my father for giving it to me and introducing me to programming.

I had that same system and I was able to run it with the meme card perfectly fine. You have to tweak the settings a bit though (change some of the filters and benchmark).

Finally moved on to triple channel RAM (I know it's capable of 9-10-9-27 @900), an SSD for my boot drive.

Will post again in 6 months after those newfangled 14 nanomometer graphics chips come out
>>
>>53661166
Why though? RAM is cheap, 16GB should become standard in 2016 for a desktop. 32GB for workstation class desktop use.
>>
>>53661366
That's wonderful that you think it should. You are not the norm. Normal people are not filling their RAM with 30 tabs of various wiki's of shitty asian cartoons. Until they do, 8GB standard it is.

Do you not know how ram works? if you have 4 gm of ram, your system uses about 2 in idle and simple processes. if you have 8 gb of ram, your system uses about 3-4 gb of ram. and if you have 16 gb of ram, your system uses about 5-8 gb of ram.

even though the processes are the same. if you have more ram, windows just uses more of it, hostfile processes and such. you have no benefit to that.

tldr: if you had 8 gb of instead of 32 gb, your processes would just use 4-6 gb, and you would never notice a difference.

you fell for the meme, my friend.

How? Windows XP was 32 bit unless you got the specific x64 editions. It would only address ~3.6GB of RAM

theres a fix for that
>>
>>53662199
pae, m8
>>
>>53662221
Wiki says it at one point could address over 4GB but Microsoft limited XP and future 32 bit windows to 4GB because if driver compatability
>>
>>53662199
I know, it has to be 64 bit, but even then this thing is designed solely to display one program and it takes 200mb of ram to run.

Upgraded from a Phenom quad core, feels good. Obviously don't have all the parts yet. Also the CPU speccy reports is 100% wrong.

Using stock cooler. Bought a G3258 for cheap performance, not to see how far I can push it.

You need 5GHz overclock and an 8k res monitor.

I constantly get weird fps drops when play mid-tier games like League. Am I doing something wrong?
>>
>>53674239

Maybe try a similar game like Dota and see how it fares? League's getting bloated and their codebase is terrible, so it could just be inefficiency.
>>
>>53674272
Yeah I've played a bit of Dota now and then and that runs fine. It's just frustrating when I can even run GTA5 at 60fps with this but barely can keep League at 60.

Worst bang for buck build I've done ever. Was desperate for an upgrade before the 980Ti and 300 series cards were out, fell for the full dx12 support meme though the card has been serving me well with DX11 (until pascal is out and they drop the ball on maxwell).

I wanted the GPU to be powerful enough to run a VR HMD comfortably at the time without needing to upgrade shortly after.

It should run the HTC Vive reasonably well when overclocked, as for monitors I'd rather stick to my current setup and wait on 4K monitors to drop in price. It'd be another 3 years by then there would probably be a decent mid range GPU for 4K.

i7 4790 was a poor choice for gaming, an overclocked i5 4590k would have been better, though I occasionally utilize hyperthreading in other applications.
