How do we fix Arch?
>>
It's simple: we kill the Stallman.
>>
>>53647502
Blow up the arch and rebuild. Like always.
>>
>>53647502
Follow the upgrade guide on wiki before arbitrary using pacman -syu
>>
>>53647546
If it's so simple why haven't you done it already?
>>
>>53647502
chroot.
>>
By installing Debian
>>

If you're good at something never do it for free (gratis).

How much you want?

What are we fixing? Did something happen to Arch? Or do you just not like Arch? There are other distros more normie-friendly, you know.
>>
>>53650070

Probably contemplating why he chose to have Compiz pre-installed in his cup of manjaro distro.
>>
>>53647502

You can't. Linux doesn't have Dtrace. It's that shit.

Install a real UNIX such as FreeBSD, OP.
>>
>>53647502
give it a fucking installer
>>
Move KDE, XFCE and GNOME to AUR so noobs can't install them.

>>
>>53650510

this, removing the installer was completely retarded. you used to be able to have a base arch install in 5 minutes, now you need to manually partition and set up pacman and the like before you install base packages. arch is run by fucking morons.
>>
>>53647502

well, segregate nonfree from free for starters.
>>
>>53651139
Underage retard
>>
>>53652015
well, you're going to partition anyhow unless you do pleb shit like only / or trust the installer to not do dumb shit like 10GiB /, 8GiB swap, and rest in /home.

Anyone who doesn't use LVM is also p dumb.

Time to install Windows, kid.

can you do lvm + luks without pasting from a wiki or reading man pages for 20 minutes?
>>
>>53647502
- Get the installer back on
- OpenRC ootb
- Create and maintain LTS repository
>>

I bet you are a frustated NEET
>>

Just fucking use Debian then
>>
By using manjaro
>>
>>53652422

i can do it easily, the point is that i don't want to spend 20 minutes doing something that a simple curses gui or gparted can do in 5 minutes.

removing it was pretty much just an excuse to annoying people and waste their time, then we got half baked terrible installers like the antergos installer in it's place.
>>
>>53652446
>without reading man pages/wiki
How would you know how to do it otherwise? Oh, you'd rather click it and forget it?

WINDOWS, KID.

Yeah, you are a NEET. Probably because you haven't passed High School yet. Fuck back to your homework, junior
>>

It literally takes 5 minutes if you know your way around a unix cli.
Get good or leave faggot

nah fuck that, just a stable core repository
>>
>>53650510
Well, for one, there's AUI already.
And second, installers are shit.
>>
>>53652446

only cucks use lvm

Whip out the GTP codes and go to town on that bitch.

If you need to resize partitions, reinstall Arch.

archfags are the worst
>>
>>53655451
you input almost as much information anyway
on distros like arch and gentoo which focus on providing a minimal base from which to start from, an installer is left with hardly anything to do
if you want something that is pre-configured and guesses things for you, why are you looking at arch? use another distro that caters to you
>>
>>53655518
>you input almost as much information anyway

yes, and it doesn't require needing a second computer to look shit up on the wiki

>if you want something that is pre-configured and guesses things for you, why are you looking at arch? use another distro that caters to you

are you retarded? arch's installer never 'pre-configured and guesses things for you'. it was just a guided form of the current installation process, there was no reason to remove it other than to inconvenience people.

>yes, and it doesn't require needing a second computer to look shit up on the wiki
the installer comes with a basic installation text file, you can also view the wiki from the arch installer by installing a web browser

>it was just a guided form of the current installation process, there was no reason to remove it other than to inconvenience people.
there was no reason to keep it either, i didn't use it even when it was available
it's the developers/maintainers decision what happens, and none of them wanted to maintain it, you don't have to agree with it, they have no obligation to cater to any particular persons' requests
