My desktop has been doing this thing where it'll go off and when I try to turn it back on it will act like it's coming on, all the fans will spin up and power it getting to everything but no POST screen will come up and it will go off then immediately try to stop over and it'll do this in a continual cycle. Then it'll decide it wants to work for a week or two and start again. Any idea what it might be? I'm assuming it's the PSU going bad? It's a newer PC I built but the PSU is an old one I've used since 2011.

PSU is fucked.
always happens at this time of the year

First reseat and clean everything, then decide the psu is fucked.

no need the PSU is totalled

it auto powers off because dieing PSU's caN cause surge and fry the mobo that's why it only some what powers on.
Allso another reason is to protect the hard disks form going FUBAR

So just go ahead and buy another PSU? Also can running this one a little longer cause any damage or will it auto power off?

reseat all your wires
test on another PSU if you got one lying around
If you don't this is a good excuse to get one
>>
It's probably the PSU since it's been running fine for a while. My friend had the same problem when he built his PC and it ended up being a bad mobo.
