Remember if someone makes an outlandish claim like \lim_{z\to\infty}(1+\frac{1}{z})^z = e you can always check it by substituting successively larger values of z into a calculator.
Thanks for that though, I had just broken out what I remembered of the binomial theorem and wrestling with infinite series before,

I'm not sure if you guys are trolling but the limit of (1+1/z)^z is e - that is how e is actually defined.
