I'm running i3. It's pretty easy to configure if you don't mind tweaking configs. Really well documented, too.

As soon as it gets tabbed mode (I like this for web browsing) implemented I'll be fucking right of from X11 for good.

I want to try it because my main app is the terminal and i run gnu screen and vim and i like all that key binding shit. I think it might speed up my workflow just like how vim and screen do

Tiling wms are all about using the keyboard. Once you learn the hotkeys, you never even have to use your mouse.
