Help me remember...
I once read about a type or method of compression that would refer to a central database instead of defining rules on a case-by-case basis. The idea was that there would be a very space-consuming "key" of sorts that would be referred to when creating a new compressed file. The idea was that, in the long run, space would actually be saved despite the massive database being referred to.
Anybody know more about this? A name or a wiki page? Appreciate it.
