Save Ice Weasel from Kali.
Then,
Install Gentoo. thank me later. it's really intuitive.
But your gonna want to start with making things from the command line. what you were trying to do with Kali wasn't going to work. It'll be sill to give away what is practically a hackers tool kit without needing to know how to use the basics of a computer.
Yes that right, why Kali seemed broken was because it's by default crippled to prevent users like you.
Their is no easy way to 1337 m8.
>>

>>
>>53602046
Yep, It's kinda baptism by fire. you'll have to use the wiki allot.
But if it's you only pc, I'd suggest sticking with windows(for games and shit). Just learn the command line. most commands are semi transferable.
once you learn the command line then select a programming language.

That site is basically free cert3 in programming.
But the big thing is learning the command line.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Do not install gentle before you realize what you are doing. Google "install gentoo" and read the "knowyourmeme" page. A good Linux distri for beginners is either Fedora or Mint if you are coming from windows. Don't listen to any of the "install arch" or the "install gentoo" people, they are trying to fuck you over for the sake of a meme. If you have any questions ask.

Because it wasn't cracked two weeks ago.
Although he's a little bit correct.
They are easier if you are dropping Windows altogether.
But if you want to actually learn what you are doing, and not effectively hot patching things every so often.
Go with Gentoo

I just don't see why people make such a fuss about those distros, it's not some obscure OS, for which you need an engineering degree.
It's all pretty easy if you know how to type and read.

Honestly I use arch because it hasn't broken ever and I'm too lazy or don't care enough to switch. It just werks for me. I'm not gonna be some autist telling you how you have to use arch otherwise you are not a 1337 hacker Linux user. Use whatever you want. If you are new to Linux I recommend Ubuntu or mint.

Gentoo compile times are a bitch, I used to run it on my old T40 and that's the only time I'd recommend using it. Only use on old computers with slow, shitty HDDs that benefit from the decreased system usage gained by compiling it from source. If you are using a computer made in the last 4 years I can't recommend gentoo.
>>
>>53605180

Whichever distro you use there will always be a someone who does not like it.

>kali, black arch, backbox
>kek 12 year old hacker wannabe

hacker or not. To learn those commands and tools you should read and learn bunch of codes. So what is wrong with it? Yes, you can simply install ubuntu, debian or arch and then you can install the tools just you need but if you download those mentioned distros you will get all the tools which are already installed.

>ubuntu
>meh ubuntu.amazon botnet.i hate unity.

At april there will be a new version. For a linux starter ubuntu is great actually. It's very easy to use. And you can delete or change your desktop environment.

>arch
>meme linux, you can't even install it.

it's not easy as ubuntu, mint, mate etc. But you're not writing the codes from scratch. There are lots of helpful documents, youtube videos, forums how to use it. It's not practical but after installation it's not that hard to use

>windows10
>BOTNET

Accept it or not accept it you can't get rid off the windows. For work or game, we all use windows (maybe some hardcore linux users and mac users can deny it) and we will use it in the future too.

>inb4 fuck off pleb (:
>>
>>53605284
Which takes 30 minutes to do (for a new user) and there is absolutely no reason to install arch for your first time using Linux. I had a problem with my WiFi card on my T420. I couldn't connect to anything at all. I eventually scripted a fix myself and about a month later it was fixed in a patch anyways. My point is that arch isnt user friendly to new users, and not everyone can just write a fix for there problems they have, they want there distro to just werk, and if it doesn't they want to have detailed documentation and tutorials on what that problem is and how to fix it. Arch simply doesn't have that.
>>
>>53605341
As a "hardcore" arch user even I use windows for my gaming PC I built. I keep all my personal shit on my laptop which is encrypted, and I keep my games and non important stuff on my desktop with windows. Don't be a fucking autist and pick only one side, both OS's have there strengths and weaknesses and windows is better at a lot of things like games, and some productivity software, as well as just being easier to use in general. Linux gives more security and privacy than linux, as well as offering its fair share of useful tools and applications. I use both because I need both security and privacy for my shit and I like to play games as well.
>>
>>53605372
But for learning doing an install is much better. You will have to learn to google. Learn what terms to google. And actually have a project to complete as a part of learning how to google. That is 10 times more productive than trying to make up things just to have something to google.
>>
>>53605421

FTFY.
>>
>>53605434
I'd rather start out on a more user friendly distro before I move to arch if I was new personally. I'd want to get to know the linux OS's ins and outs before I take on arch. You gotta take baby steps anon.
>>
>>53605450
No I'm pretty sure I said right after that, that windows is more user friendly than Linux. So the statement holds true.
>>
>>53601631
This, you have to restart the services you killed to get into monitor mode. Are you sing pixie dust attack or ?
>>

>>
>>53605434

You'll just end up in a graphic environment, with software you're used to use, and just circle jerk in your comfort zone, learning nothing at all.

>>53605372
>My point is that arch isnt user friendly to new users
And my point is, installing arch isn't hard. There's a lot of documentation, and despite installing arch on 3different computers, I've never ran into a problem I couldn't find on google ( which all happened AFTER the installation ).
>>
>>53605463

It wouldn't hurt no. When I was first introduced to linux I was told to install arch. I was obviously very confused and didnt have a clue what to do. I almost gave up on linux entirely until I installed Fedora. This allowed me to become familiar with the linux environment. Now that I understood the basics of linux and new my way around, I gave arch another try. I actually installed it this time, and I've been loving it ever since. You should learn what the stuff you are doing first is, before you do said stuff.
>>
>>53604406
>But it's Linux
No, it's Unity. The kernel has nothing to do with the Amazon dash results on the Desktop Environment.
>>
>>53605559
Ok. Lets say he's installed fedora. What next? What is there to do that would be a suitable stepping stone? Something that you will want to have. But also need to learn things in order to obtain it.
This is where I get hung up personally.
Most simple things are already done or on Windows(why reinvent the wheel).
Then the stuff you actually want with linux is stupidly complex (learners mind) and involve knowing a programming langauge.
