because the average /g/ook lives with his mother and cant afford a proper CPU, GPU, and OS, thats why they all hate Windows+Intel+Nvidia.

Because they're shifty eyed chinks who are worse than the shifty eyed eBay chinks.

>gtx 960 pulls up to 250w from the pcie slot
>gtx 970 224 bit, 3.5gb, 56 ROPs.
>gtx 980 ti cucking Titan x owners just to fuck the fury x

But don't believe the gimping, my gtx 680 is still pretty good after driver updates as long as I don't use gimpworks.
>>
>>53549209

the pcie slot itself only provides 75w

>who hates Intel?
>Oh you mean Skylakes and the flaws it has.

I use 5th gen CPUs on both my towers and laptops. I don't hate Intel or Nvidia/AMD, I just hate hardware and software that beaches a area of privacy which computers should not have by default.

I also hate hardware that displays flaws and contain an expensive cost to buy without any reduction due to flaw.
>I mean if I wanted shit, i'd buy human shit.

1)
Windows 10 has fucked up measures to keep your privacy at the bottom of the list

2)
Intel's Skylake CPUs have a workload issue that is present when you have the cores at 100% and are running encryptions or work loads that are computing a lot of mathematical algorithms.
>Wheres my defective hardware discount Intel!!!!

3)
Intel's Skylake also has a listen socket built into the chip. It can be used to wake up the computer by any process or user.
>Somebody call windows 10. We have a even worse security threat then installing Windows 10 and using any anti virus that they can join into their privacy breach act.

I am a simple man. I do not like shit that is defective from OOTB. If I must use shit, I surely will NOT pay for it.

I dislike AMD for one bad experience. I hate Nvidia for 3-5 bad experiences.

experience=GPU here, as far as actual # of problems I have had a dozen from Nvidia. Gonna give AMD another shot if I ever buy another GPU again. I don't play games much anymore so it's tough to say if I'll actually need another GPU.

I realise this is by no means a statistically significant sample, but it's enough to influence my purchasing decisions.

>>53549736
I have 4 screens hanging off my 980, pic related with windows 10 running a few things on the desktop... Temps are higher than they normally would be because I have a soundproofed case with almost no airflow.
>>
>>53549746
if you go into a shop, you will be tracked by your phone's emissions. If not, you will be tracked by cameras. If you use credit card, all your purchases will be analysed.

If you carry a phone, your location is being tracked by multiple sources.

If you browse a website, even with javascript disabled, your user agent is enough to identify you.

Every time you run a piece of software, unless you're in a airgapped room chances are it's sending information home.

There is literally nothing you can do to stop this.

Embrace it.

Nvidia cards actually don't work with passthrough unless you specifically conceal the hypervisor signature. Which is easy enough to do now, but why would they do something like that anyway?
Also their drivers are completely closed source unlike AMD's which are partially open.

>>53548332

AMD provides better value across the board. Nvdia only gives a shit about it's flagship

>>
>>53548332
People on /g/ usually hate superior things.
>>
Might as well ask why /g/ hates AMD.
Arguments will be different but in both cases borderline unreasonable.

I think the the general consensus is people simply stick to one company for whatever reason, and everything that isn't their favoured company is shit.
Which kinda explains why there's more NVidiafags than AMDfags (NVidia has more customers in general).

But there's occasional people in threads like this who tried both and have more refined opinions.
My advice - listen to those guys. They know better (honestly).
Not even trying to shill my opinion here, I've been on ATI/AMD GPUs since forever and I have tons of respect for NVidia.
Gotta admit dat 980 Ti is delicious.
>>
>>53550051
I'm currently hating nvidia on linux. specifically the optimus bullshit. tried driver 352 with bumblebee. Reboot and just fuck my shit up. reinstall because faster than tracking down every fucking error.
>linusmiddlefinger.mp4
>>
AMD are a little more incompetent than I'd like, most recently the omission of an HDMI 2.0 on the Fury was ridiculous. First crimson drivers had some annoying downclocking issues too, but that's fixed now. Linux support needs a lot of work.

Nvidia are more competent but they behave really maliciously, blantly gimping performance in Gamesworks games just because it has a worse effect on AMD. They seem to detest open source and actively work to make life difficult for the poor Nouveau developers, most recently with Maxwell. They work against people trying to get PCI passthrough working, too.

Neither company is perfect, just get what performs best at your pricepoint.

This tbqh. Best card on the market.

My wife has a 970 that she ditched for a 390x though.

I bought my wife's son a 390 mainly because I predicted it would be better than 970 and might match 980 later on. Shower given the recent release of games it might even match 980 to in dx12 mode. That made him happy.

I don't even consider high temps an issue. I have tearing, Steam games that won't launch, random Steam crashes, etc. all from an nvidia update.
>>
>>53550051
AMD has _waaaaay_ better GNU/Linux support. They directly work on the open source driver.

Performance in muh games? Sure, nvidia's proprietary driver performs the same on both platforms, but it has a lot more weird issues, and they still don't support Wayland.

AMD is a freedom fighter. They may be struggling in some areas, but they're the team to root for, and this is coming from someone who's not only using an nvidia card right now, but has only ever used an AMD card once before AND had a negative experience with it. Nvidia is just waaay worse.

ITT: Shills.

Just buy what it pulls off at your budget range.

ex: I can't afford the 980, and I don't want a 970, so I am getting a r9 390x.
It's literally (at least here) half the price of the 980, and I get the double of vram.

But, I am not that poor for an AMD cpu tho
>>
>>53550241

>>
>>53552149
390/X beats 980 in the new games in DX11. In DX12, they beat 980ti or are on same.

Price/performance wise, AMD's cards are a tier or two underrated. Or rather Nvidia's cards are a tier or two over rated.

I've been out of the loop for years but am going to build a new pc soon, how does the fury x stack up against the gtx 980?
>>
>>53553660
Fury x is better.
>>
390/X beats 980 these days.

Fury X is meant to compete with 980ti, which it does. But once you OC 980ti, it overtakes Fury X.
