Please, /g/. I really need your help
>>
Have you tried reseating the cpu, doing memtest to check your ram, virus scan (unless you use GNU/Linux)

You know...the obvious stuff one does when trying to troubleshoot?
>>
>>53547040
Well theres your problem
>4350
>>
>>53547087
I have done multiple virus scans, system restarts, and am defragging my hard drive as I speak

This didn't start until I downloaded Sony Vegas and edited a video. Could that be it?

>>53547091
U fk wot
>>
>>53547122
Well son I am afraid there is only one way to fix this...
>>
I also forgot to mention that I am using windows 10

I heard that a recent Nvidia driver started fucking up other people stuff. Is this also a possibility?
>>
>>53547040
In all honesty, your HDD is probably dying. They tend to become super slow right before they die. Open task manager, is your HDD pegged at 100% usage when you are just sitting on the desktop? If so, back up your shit and order a new drive.
>>
>tfw you didn't buy an ssd
>tfw 5 minutes for your desktop to load

The only true way to fix it is to install gentoo.

Melt a crayon into cpu, then put on thermal paste. Makes it a ton faster.

Yeah I had to revert Bach to the previous drive to play any game at 60 fps. Even league was running at 20fps....

>>53547040
Sounds like HDD failure. Check your SMART data with CDI or something.
>>
>>53547282
Looks like some one has their nickers in a twist.
>>
>>53547122
Did you buy Vegas or did you download it illegally?

At any rate the symptoms you describe sound like a failing hard drive. Is your hard drive making any funny noises? Is the hard drive activity light constantly glowing? Download CrystalDiskInfo and post what the program says about your hard drive.

>>53547235
This works wonders.

Your meme core processor is bottle necking your gpu.

OP here, the HDD is my regular ol' hard drive correct? Sorry, but I'm not that tech savvy.

If it is, then it is at 100%
>>
>>53547389
Yes. Follow these posters' advice >>53547354 >>53547310
and get crystal disk info; it'll show you if the hard drive is reporting any errors. Post a screenshot if you're not sure what it means.

I have looked up info on it and it can handle an r9 380 or a GeForce gtx 970

Illegally, but the source on thepiratebay said it was a vip member. So no worries, right?

I work in IT repair; here's what we do fro slow/oddly running computers:
First, run rkill
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/

Then run ADW Cleaner
https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Restart your comp

If you're on Windows 7, BUT ONLY IF you're on Windows 7, run ComboFix
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

Then run MalwareBytes
https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Sounds a lot like a failing hard drive to me as well. Check the SMART data, if it shows any signs of failure, then back your shit up and order a new one.
>>
>>53548180
Is it too painful for you, isn't it?
>>
>>53547040
>>53547063
First, how the fuck are we or anyone else supposed to know what's wrong with your computer without knowing what you have done recently?
>>53548157
is on the right track software-wise, I would add other deep scanning antiviruses as well; if you find anything also boot into recovery, safe mode, GNU/Linux/BSD whatnot and recover crucial data.
Hardware-wise, your parts are shit and may simply be aging. Run HDD R/W tests, memtest, reseat DIMMs, check temperatures on N/Sbridge/CPU, monitor frequencies and voltages to see if they're deviating from the norm, etc. It's probably time for an upgrade, those parts are coming on a 6th year. Unlikely you're being throttled lest your CPU is running Prime98 all the fuckin time. Good luck, fampai.
>>
>>53548157
this is an amazing share , thank you!
>>
Check temps, perhaps your cpu is overheating and it's throttling. If that's the case then replace the thermal paste or look for an aftermarket cooler.

I am 100% sure your "some random ass 1tb hard drive"is crashing. I would suggest buying another one asap if not get an ssd. Had the same problem with my laptop and it would take about 10 min to boot. So i bought an ssd transferred everything and was good to go.

You've got bitcoinware. Report this to the site and if you can boot remove any program installed after Sony Vega. Try downloading an antivirus and see if that helps. If it doesn't, I'm sorry but you have (most likely) been infected with botnet software. Your hardware is being used by some Russian for either bitcoin or ddosing (most likely bitcoin). Only solution is to find the software he's using or system restore to some point before you downloaded Sony Vega.
