What is the best SSD brand in the market right now?
Currently looking into buying pic related.
Stay away from those. Buy a 850 Evo or Pro.
Samsung, delete the thread now

I'm not Korean, but you should buy Samsung. Kill yourself now.
From what research I've done, it seems that Samsung 850 EVO series is the best one.
I'll be getting a 1TB one next month to replace my laptop's 1TB hdd (70w/100r)
>>53539640
Crucial is okay.
Running one right now.
>>53539640
my crucial works well since 2 years
Plextor or Intel.
Crucial bx200 line isn't as good as their bx100 line.
mx200 is a great series if you can get one cheap.
850 evo is solid.

Anyone here has a Sandisk SSD Plus?
They are really cheap and i just want to replace a laptop HDD that is FUBAR.
>>53539640
I just got SSD, samsung looked like the best but was the highest price. I got 2 Sandisk Ultra II drives and put into raid 0. My mobo has only sata 2. surely with a newer mobo the drives would be faster but I got what I got. in my research you get what you pay for, so that $99 SSD won't be as fast as that $150 SSD. these sandisks were a nice balance between performance and price. I will surely keep an image backup on another drive due to RAID 0 now doubling the chance of data loss.

There is more to consider than benchmarks with ssds.
Hijacking the thread.
I want a cheap reliable SSD, performance should be okay, nothing more. Samsung drives are expensive, and cheaper one even uses TLC. Besides, I don't like samsung.
What are my options?
>>53540449
Cheapest not really reliable: ADATA SP500
Cheapest: Sandisk SSD Plus or ADATA SSD S500
Moderate: Sandisk Ultra II or Crucial BX100.
What you should be looking for: 850 EVO.
>>53540029
Amazon had a 1TB Sandisk SSD for $200 yesterday
They're actually pretty good. Not the fastest, but decent
>>53539724
BX2000 is absolute shit. You can get better for cheaper. Stay way from it
BX200 is dogshit. So shit even the older BX100 is vastly superior, and a very viable choice. Try to find one still on sale.
>>53539640
850 Evo or Pro
check for random sales on amazon or newegg, got myself one on new years eve with 30% off.
I've had pic related for going on 2 years with no issues.
>>53541219
Thats a nice one.
>>53539640
Ive got one of those. 512G. It's quite solid. There's no good reason to buy quicker sata drive since performance would be marginally better. So get one of those or m2 pci if u want SPID
>>53539701
BX100 is ok.
BX200 has slower write speeds than 7200rpm mechanical.
op is banana

Crucial is okay, just avoid the BX200 series. They are both significantly slower (and suck dick at random read/writes) and have lower endurance ratings than the BX100 they are meant to replace.
Otherwise, Samsung, Intel. Always research extensively beforehand, some models are prone to defects or have weird quirks.
