Orange Pi doesn't really have very good documentation. It does have an HDMI port though, so as long as you get an HDMI-compatible screen you should be fine. Hooking up a screen via GPIO when you have an HDMI port would be ludicrous.

I compiled my wireless drivers from a branch that didn't make it into kernel yet, I set up a script to rotate my screen when I press the Windows button on the screen's bezel because my accelerometer doesn't seem to be recognized and the i7 stylus digitizer is Wacom, so it has more support than other chink digitizers.
Linux on your chink tablet is not gonna be perfect out of the box, you'll have to fiddle with it more or less depending on the model, and sure as hell you won't have much community support. If you want to be sure to have everything working get a ThinkPad, they're officially chink too now.

Install ADB Driver
Place SuperSu.zip on your Chuwi Hi8 internal memory
Decompress the first file
Turn on USB Debugging on your Chuwi Hi8(This is /g/, we don't need steps for this right?)
On Android connect your turn on and unlocked Chuwi Hi8 to your PC using a USB cable
Double click Launcher.bat from the decompressed folder
Type "ACCEPT" not "accept" fucking "ACCEPT"
It should give you the following message:
DEVICE STATUS: ADB-ONLINE
DEVICE INFORMATION: Brayrail/Cherrytrail######### device
Now type: "T3" and press enter
The tablet will reboot and load a temporary CWM recovery
Select flash from .zip and flash the SuperSu.zip
Now go to reboot to system, there will be a question that you can't read, just select "No"
The tablet will reboot and you can check with "root checker" if the root was successful.

For under a dollar the range of small drill bits and cutters/abraders/polishers is very impressive.
