6 requires encryption?
I don't have to enter a password at boot...
Normies don't about security, most of them use slide to unlock.
>>53534750
I'd like to encrypt my android devices, but so far none of them were stable enough.
One dual sim phone couldn't see the other sim after encryption.
One would have frequent reboots etc.
And a few phones wouldn't even boot after encryption. All were android 5.0+

Similar experience (probably worse)

im going to buy a nokia 3310 again
Encrypted my one m7 no problems so far.
I have nothing to hide and better performance is lot more important to me.

Stagefright is fixed on most phones even on my 3 year old HTC one
>>53535037
It doesn't slow down anything just the boot times.
>ah bloo bloo bloo my $200 indiashit phone isn't up to date
Buy Nexus you dingus
The reason is simple. With Android you have to enter your FDE password every time you unlock your screen. Rendering FDE problematic.
>>53535183
That's not really true. Every read and write operating has to decrypted and encrypted. This impacts your CPU a little, but it's negligible on modern hardware.

Just encrypted my Note 4 the other day, no issues so far.
Hahahaha
>>53534750
This is incorrect.
The new Androids do not require encryption; they merely have it enabled by default.
>>53534750
where are they pulling those percents out of? Their asses?
Android versions above ICS support encryption, you just have to to Settings>Security and enable it. Just because I'm not running Marshmallow doesn't mean that I don't have encryption enabled.
Anyway, weren't you, the media saying encryption is for pedos and terrorists a few months ago? Why are you suddenly supporting it? Just because it's Apple who's being sued now?
Please, don't act like you've cared all along about encryption.

Ok, but only because you asked nicely.

Well Apple does support faggots, pedos and the such.

these memes are too dank to let fall into the wrong hands
Whatever. The choice is good, I don't want it to be encrypted: I don't store nudes there etc. Apple users don't have a choice and they don't have FDE either.

You can encrypt Android phones since Android 3
The difference with iOS it's that it isn't backdoored, and you can decide if you want it or not
Also, that image is lying, since people running 6 might have their devices unencrypted, and people running versions higher than 3 might have theirs encrypted

>Also, that image is lying
Did you read the legend?

Android 5 requires Nexus devices to be encrypted, which the chart doesn't show

That's because it's the only good OEM for Android
>>53537738
It doesn't.
Source: have an unencrypted Nexus 5X

they turned that off for some reason.
