Intel NUC: no usage case
>>
Who the fuck is this supposed to appeal to? Even that shitty Alienware Steam Machine will get you way higher performance for that price.
>>
Intel suc kit

Hello AMD

Kek.

Can't wait for the amd equivalent.
An a8 nuc would be amazing with zen cores.

Tiny little steam/emulation box for the tv a hundred dollars cheaper than the i3 ones.
>>
>>53533982
> hundred dollar cheaper
Keep telling yourself that.
>>
>>53534063
I'm Australian so it'll likely be true.
>>
>>53534075
Is Intel brand overpriced in Australia? Because AMD in my country isn't that much cheaper than Intel or Nvidia.
>>
>>53533768
Considering building a laptop around it.
>>
>>53533759
Cool little Hackintosh (for XCode), multimedia machine, programming computer, Arch box and emulation station.
>>
>>53534093
A8 7600+ msi motherboard is around same price as an i3.

Their graphics cards are either the same or a tiny bit more expensive last time I checked, a few months ago
>>
>>53533759
How much will this cost?

Why have you not joined the Intel 128MB L4 cache master race, /g/?
>>
>Intel Iris
>$600-$1000
The size is pretty cool though. Something like this but with a Zen APU with 16 CUs at a lower price would be orgasmic.
>>
can't find and cpu/gpu specs, only prices and motherboard factor. can anyone post the specs with the price so we can laugh at it?
>>
>>53534853
too bad that l4 cache operates at ddr2 ram speeds
>>
i7KYK

They're not even hiding it anymore, its in the product name.
>>
>>53533759
Intel... I don't hate white or Asian males so I'm not the target audience.
>>
>$999 for the model with storage and ram
..why?
you can literall build a desktop with more powerful i7 6700k for the same cost
>>
>>53533759
Ugly as hell
>>
So it's a laptop, which uses the most overpriced part of laptops (mobile i7s) with no screen or battery?
>>
>mfw seeing the price

same old fucking jewtel

>>53535015
if it's anything like the previous models, none of the syatems actually come with any additional hardware, that price is probably just based off MSRP of the other parts

>>53534939
>>53534127
jesus christ people the price is in the headline of the article

>>53533843
NUC is for formfactor fags. if you've ever seen a mini-ITX rig and thought that wasn't small enough, this is the next step

just like mini-ITX, it's only really for burning money, and i say this as an early adopter (I bought and still own a i3 launch model to use as a TV box)
>>
>Note that the HDMI 2.0 output is enabled by an external LSPcon (not Alpine Ridge). So, we will definitely have 4Kp60 output with HDCP 2.2 support over the HDMI port, making it suitable as a future-proof HTPC platform.

Skylake = no hw-decoding for HEVC-10bit, which is used by __ALL__ 4K-sources. (UHD, UltraHD-4K-Blurry, VoD-streams).

So buying this as a "future-proof HTPC" is a waste of money.

>the price is in the headline of the article
I know the price, can't seem to find the specs.
They said hhd/ram/os not included, they mention the model of the motherboard.
Nothing about cpu/gpu
>>
>>53535322
Hardware decoding is shit.
>>
>>53533759
Finally an nvidia shield tv alternative?
>>
>>53535359
software-decoding = heat = fan-noise.

htpc and fan-noise don't belong togehter, mate.
>>
>>53535378
LOL NO

Nvidia Shield Android TV has HEVC 10bit decoding for $199, this doesn't
>>
>>53535380
But gpu in charge are hotter than cpu in charge.
>>
>>53535397
Hardware decoders are dumbs and produce shitty artefacts.

A 650USD STARTING price "gaming" miniPC that can get pounded by a cheap cobbled together AMD rig.

Size novelty aside, Intel need to understand only poors are going to tolerate the kinda of performance the nuc will put out, despite no poor being able to afford it.
>>
>>53535422
You're a dumb faggot and it shows

All hardware decoders must output the same image as a software decoder, this is in the H.264 & HEVC spec
