It works and doesn't actually fuck anything up? I used to do this to play games that needed just that much more ram, because Windows is a fucking hog.

I used to do this too. explorer used like 40mb( alot of ram back then)

Without the use of 3rd party software it is still largely a requirement to kill explorer to play starcraft without it looking colorwashed as fuck.
