Serious discussion here. Why is the new majority of /g/ windows users? Are you interested in technology, or technology consumerism? Watch fags generally shouldn't be here. Help me understand, anon.
>>
The majority of 4chan is underage, that is all.
>>
>>53511862
This, sadly.
>>
>>53511845
because you get summer leaking in from /v/ and /b/
>>
Because this is /g/ - Technology not /g/ - Privacy and Paranoia.
>>
>>53511845

I don't get your question, this board is obviously about consumer technology and always has been.
>>
>>53511862

>windows user
>haven't owned a watch in 15 years

My feels are still in tact; try harder.
>>
>>53511901
>and always has been.
no
>>
>>53511912
Not trying to hurt your feelings, bud. Why are you here? What do you have to contribute?
>>
>>53511901
Are you new? This is a pretty recent invasion from /v/.
>>
>>53511845
generals aren't leaving any time soon, you can filter them or just go to the threads that interest you and avoid the rest.
>serious discussion here.
sure ;^)
>>
The only reason people think /g/ cares only about linux is entirely because the desktop threads are the only time you consistently see the same people over and over again, and they always run some hyped up awesome/i3 shit on arch or ubuntu.

You used to see people trying to heavily rice windows 7 (and then 8, because people found out that you could basically discount your way into getting it legally free, gj microsoft), but it doesn't happen anymore because windows 10 is dogshit for ricing, so now it's a tiny lonely circlejerk of people spending hours on configs for the five or six programs they ever use
>>
>>53511897
this
and fuck off OP
>>
Not sure, but the reason I always hear is "games"
>>
>>53511897
You didn't answer anything I asked anon. Where's the technicality in what you said?
>>
>>53511932
>>53511901

I've been visiting this particularly board since early 2007 and it's always been mostly about consumer technology like GPU's and CPU's etc, I really don't get how you can argue it's not a board about consumer technology.
>>
>>53511942

For the keks/lulz/rofls... whatever you kids call it.
Nothing.
>>
>>53511975
This is also untrue. Linux is good for so much more than ricing. i3 is literally for those who don't care for aesthetics (and often show off that they don't care.) /g/ has a linux reputation for because it has a reputation for being tech savvy ergo begin linux savvy.
>>
>>53511942
>>53512071
bet you came here for some epic banter you saw on /r/4chan
>>
>>53512132
No. I came here to discuss technology with what I hoped was like minded peers. Maybe coop on projects, learn from others, and possibly make friends. Not fawning over the latest iwhocares or talking about how many fps you get with witcher3
>>
linux is not the epitome of technology
>>
>>53512132

Eh, I had to look up what board /r/ is. Sorry, I don't reddit.
>>
>>53512232
What does this even mean?
>>
>>53512191
>make friends
>anonymous message board
you belong on reddit :^)
>>
>>53511845
>Watch fags generally shouldn't be here
Why? watches are tech.

1. Conversations can move to off board discussions such as IRC. A board like this is good to find common ground to make said friends. You should try it. Maybe you'll get some.

2.What's wrong with that? I can sharpen my skills and build contacts in case I want to start one. Not everyone is just a media vacuum, anon.

Completely and totally 100% guaranteed WRONG.

>>53512402
what do you mean by "media vacuum"?
I think I know what you mean but I'm not sure
>>
>>53511979
Rude
>>

Technology doesn't mean just wasting all day bragging about you using Linux.
>>

you're a whole new kind of retarded lmao
>>
>>53512056
This, not browsing from 2007 but been browsing for 4 years now.
>>
>>53512492
I'm sorry. When did I say that? All I want is to keep the conversations on technical and on topic. Do you know what a conversation is? Where's the disconnect?
>>
>>53512402
end yourself
>>
>>53511845
Microsoft have a looong history of astroturfing (google it), so don't believe everything you read here.

It was the first OS that worldwide spread for normal fags. Linux was mostly used by techy people from the 90's and seem that 4chan is in mostly 20's we didn't know any better. We grew up on Windows, at least outside the US
>>
Because loonix barely supports any cool peripherals or computer parts

With the exception of cheap shit like chrome books, second hand think pads and plethora of 3rd world smartphones and tablets.
>>
Using linux is a meme, most people here just have a VM that they resume for desktop threads.
>>
>>53511845
They are pcmasterrace redditor's who found /g/ and think they know technology because they can assemble legos and maintain Windows.

Also, paid Microsoft shills.
