How do I identify which part of this is used to connect with the cell network? Googling what's written in each part didn't help much and the only experience I have is replacing a cleaning a few of the more obvious parts line USB ports and screens. Not asking how to replace the part, just how to identify it in different models.

Your looking for the only chip that has FCC markings and isn't Samsung developed.
Also turn it around and/or literally follow the yellow brick road.

Typically networking is done on the SoC which would mean the Qualcomm.
What phone is this?

Check chip names and numbers, or follow the leads from the sim to whatever.

Its and SCH-R910, OK, there's only one made by Qualcomm. What exactly are FCC markings? There are several parts not marked by Samsung. Also, what about IPhone?

Can you take a picture of the other side?

Better picture with SIM in bottom left and Qualcomm part in the top right.

If anyone thinks it'd be easier to show me with a different example I can open up another phone, I've got a box of about a hundred old broken ones.

There's a socket for an external antenna (required by law I think). Just follow its center pin trace.
